Unfortunately this says it all.
Indonesia, though, has a relatively poor record on aviation safety. For more than a decade carriers from the region were banned from flying into the EU. Until recently, the perception had been that standards were improving, and in 2018 all Indonesian airlines were removed from the EU's blacklist.
That, however, was before the loss of a Lion Air 737 Max in October 2018. Although the design of the aircraft is widely believed to have been the main cause of the accident, investigators also highlighted issues such as poor maintenance procedures and inadequate flying skills as contributory factors.

Well I can safely say the only way I will be killed by a plane Is if one of the buggers land on my head Have to admit, I think I could quite happily go the rest of my life without flying again. Yes, I know that, statistically, large planes are one of the safest forms of travel, but I can’t imagine that is ever much consolation as you realise you’re going to die a shitty violent death in the next few minutes.

It must be one horrific way to go mate. I fucking hate flying with a passion, I simply cannot relax while I'm 35,000 feet in the air in a big metal tube.

Well I can safely say the only way I will be killed by a plane Is if one of the buggers land on my head Had a really bumpy flight coming back from a stag weekend in Riga about 20 years ago. It was 3 hours of hell, gripping the arm rests, eyes tightly shut, sweating and muttering to myself to stay calm. Ever since I've hated take offs and struggle with turbulence. I don't take any meds or anything on flights but after these past few years and seeing what's happened with Boeing, I've just taken a conscious decision not to fly again. Car, coach, ferry, train all fine. I can live without going long distance or just make a long distance vacation into a road trip.

Over the last 20 years I've taken 50 - 100 flights yearly. I still hate turbulence. I always check turbulenceforecast.com to see if there is any rough air. Helps me to prepare.
Worst was a flight from Graz to Frankfurt. A ton of thunder storms around. Spent the whole flight weaving through them. About 15 mins from landing the captain comes on the radio and tells us how we've missed all the storms, so far, but there is one between us and the airport. We go through it and hit a huge downdraft. Anyone who wasn't buckled in hit the ceiling (there were a few) as did the Twix on the seat next to me.
The next flight from Frankfurt to Brum was one of the smoothest I've ever been one!

I had a similar experience flying from Philadephia to LA somewhere around Denver the lightning 🌩 scared the shit out of me but fortunately it was over in about 30mins.

Always tricky there. My worst one was KL. Kuala Lumpur? Yup. Took a short flight from Bangkok to Kuala Lumpur, terrible weather, we aborted 1 landing just a few feet off the ground, circled for a while, then diverted to Penang...
