Considering he has not played through injury and not been picked, I have a sneaking suspicion TP will go for him in Jan. He has his money from a 3 year contract there so if the compo is Ok I can see him moving on. Paddy Kenny will be pleased too !
His dads TP's mate though - reckon he or Griff may return. One thing we don't want is a repeat of last years fiasco waiting and waiting for new players over Jan. Just for once I would want new players announced on Jan 1 st !!
He's had nothing but good things to say about Stokies.......yet still I think he's vastly over rated and a player that I'd certainly not look into signing. This teams success has been built around a superb team spirit and the willingness from each player to play for each other. We wouldn't want an arrogant personalities like Hendrie's in the camp, would we?
Agree nath, reminds me of the situation during Kav's last season with us. No denying the ability of the player or the job he did for us for a time, but reports like the Ferrari incident make you think that he might be a pain in the arse with some of the other lads - who for the first time in ages, are starting to look more bonded as a team.
I wouldn't like to see Hendrie coming back if I am being honest. Although he did well when he first came on loan he wasn't totally VVank after Christmas.
I would love to see Griffo back down here (agen ) though. I rate him realy highly and I suspect that he may regret choosing to move to Derby. He'll be regretting it even more at the end of the season when Derby and Stoke pass each other travelling in different directions
I personally feel we should move away from the Griffin and Hendrie type of player - though Hendrie more so. Hungry players who are desperate to play for the club are the way forward in my opinion, which basically means scouring the lower leagues and foreign players, and having an eye on those on the fringes of Prem first teams.
Griff is a lot more assured on the ball than Wilko or Dicko, and both need to work on this area of their games. However, it boils down to them both having the desire to play for Stoke City, and defensively, they are more than capable.
I would say that TP would definitely go for him if he was available, though I doubt he will be he as spent along time out with injury and I am sure Sheff Utd would put him straight in the team once available. Personally I wouldn't want him back, he is a top player just runs hot and cold and too injury prone for the money he is on.
Griffin and Hendrie - no thanks! We've been there and done that. Dicko's better than Griff and left footed too. Hendrie waste of money now, forever injured with sheff u. When Coates opens the warchest in january, we can better and cheaper than Hendrie
Absolutely not!!! The bloke managed to do some things when he first arrived but after that, he was what he is....a big headed sod who's only contribution to the game was to wind up the opposition. We have pretty much an honest bunch of lads here who don't need to be tainted by the likes of him. I'd rather fail trying than have him back.
Although I wouldn't go out of my way to sign him, I wouldn't be fuming if we did sign him. Bags of talent and if we could get him playing like he did during his first loan spell (ie not injured like his second spell) then I think he could be that missing link.
