List of races for the forthcoming season. www.nsrra.org.uk/www.nsrra.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/NSRRA-Fixture-List-2021-Amended-2.pdfWith the current tier restrictions these races continue as virtual races which means that you can do them anywhere in the country on any course and submit your results. Approximately 12 of the races in 2020 were 10K or less. The actual races are across the Potteries and into Nantwich, Congleton, Stone, Eccleshall, Leek and Uttoxeter and a range of fantastic courses. The proceeds of entry fees mainly go to the clubs across the region who then donate to local charities. There are a couple of races run by local clubs on behalf of schools where the proceeds go directly into school coffers. One race not on the race calendar at the end of the season is the Cheddleton Pudding Race where the proceeds go to Cancer Research UK. They normally raise several thousand pounds on the actual race and even the virtual race this last year raised around £3K. The league operates on two league bases one being based on your ability group irrespective of age and the second based on your age group in bands of 5 years. It's a fantastic way to get fit and have a bit of competition irrespective of how fast or slow you are.

Beat me to it, I’ll be waiting around the corner with a pack of ACME dynamite 🧨 😀

Will they definitely be run as virtual or could that change depending on the covid rules??
Guess there's quite a bit of a lead time for organising such events??
Also, do they ever introduce new races/courses??? I can think of a couple of good locations that would be great for racing that aren't on the circuit

What about elevation Fel? Does the chosen course have to be within certain parameters?
(I don't to be running near any hills for fear of being crushed by falling anvils)

I can think of a couple of good locations that would be great for racing that aren't on the circuit Last year they all ran as virtual apart from the first two that ran as actual races pre lockdown. I would anticipate that due to current lockdown and Covid issues that we're unlikely to see an actual race before the summer but who knows. It's incredibly hard to introduce a new race as the good people of Penkhull found out just over a year back when trying to negotiate with the local Safety and advisory group who's default position is that everyone should stay at home in bed Quite a few of the races involve road closures and the associated costs and all need a large number of marshals which tends to mean they have to be club supported otherwise the costs go up considerably.
