I used the occasion once, drew a line in the sand to stop smoking because it had to be done. I'd half heartedly tried and failed on other occasions so it was one NYE 21 years ago and that was that. Anyone had any success in other departments, diet(usual) drinking, saving etc.. or monumental failures after 10 minutes. This year I'm going to try and squirrel away as much spare cash as possible because last night at 5 minutes past midnight I received a message from my son announcing that he's now an engaged š person. Genuinely great news but with financial implications hence the resolution.

Great news chuffšš». Hopefully it wonāt hit the wallet too hard. I donāt generally do resolutions as such anymore but I do have to do lists. This year itāll be. 1. To lose 32lbs before my wedding in June (Tried this one last year but I only had to lose 18lbs then so I ended up putting 14lbs onš¬). 2. Get the finances in order (Have so many outgoings I donāt need and the things I do need, there are far better deals out there). 3. Get the top floor window sills painted to match the rest of them (rock and roll) I was too much of a scaredy cat to do it last summer as I live on a busy main road and every one sits in their car watching when Iām working outsideš¤£.

1) Try and be a better partner and dad. 2) Be less judgmental of others. 3) Engage less with eejits on Twitter. 4) Take more time to chill out. 5) Watch less granny porn.

Pick 5 doomed to fail Pick 1 easier to succeed and that one thing may lead to other changes by course. Itās all about little changes. Iām gonna try and have no Diet Coke for a month I drink too far much of it. Day 2 Iāve got the shakes

I can't do them for the year because I get bored. I try and do them in three month cycles, they're easier to manage that way.

To appreciate life more and try to enjoy every minute. If thereās one thing last year taught me itās donāt take life and the basic things that we do on a daily basis for granted.
