That video shows why these sort of enquiries should only ever be done by the police, shocking bullying of a vulnerable individual by people ill equipped with no training. Leave things like this to the professionals. I agree again however it is possible that people do not trust our authorities to act on evidence put forward as we have seen so many times when it comes to paedo. scum, it is a breeding ground for well meaning but untrained vigilantes taking matters into their own hands, the only surprising thing is we have not seen more action taken by the public the authorities have a lot to answer for. I would imagine that the guy on the video was convicted by what was on his computer rather than the 'admissions' on the video. In more serious offences the vigilante video could have been inadmissible and the whole case could have been thrown out. It's a fine line.

The police have made a lot of mistakes in the past some of which have been inexcusable. What I would say however is that due to enquiries a lots been learnt from what’s happened and I don’t Believe those mistakes are anywhere near as likely to happen anymore. Lots of progress has been made in identifying CSE and CE which hadn’t even been heard of 2-3 years ago. I pray to God you are right Cobs. however there appears to be ongoing issues with paedophile reports been not investigated by Police in the North West in 2019-2020, I fear that many people unsurprisingly believe that they are unable to sadly trust them to act appropriately against these scum bag sexual predators, these children have been criminally neglected by the very people paid and charged with protecting them, it's a national scandal it should be treated as such no elephants no stones unturned root and branch independent enquiry needed urgently.

It probably would have been and rightly so however it also gave the Police no option but to act which produced a result, this is indicative of what happens when the authorities fail to act mate.
