Nothing on google? ....Aren’t all clubs awaiting mass testing results, what makes them any different? Played Millwall last Saturday and their next two games are off due to a mass outbreak!

Nothing on google? ....Aren’t all clubs awaiting mass testing results, what makes them any different? Most clubs below the Prem have stopped doing routine mass testing as it’s too expensive. It costs £7k on average to test everybody and the clubs have to foot the bill. The Prem have made it mandatory but the Football League have not.

Forest saw that there was another fixture lined up against us, and a delayed action shock effect took hold so they're creating an excuse not to play us until they are ready.

A couple of weeks break could be just the ticket for Stoke tbh and get the full 1st team squad back up and running
Just as a viewer/consumer I'm having football overload too! I need a break and that's just from watching tele

Hasn't felt like this every other season.

Postponements, if it comes to that, should suit us just fine. We're currently knackered and come March / April, we should, fingers crossed, have plenty of our wounded back.

I need a break and that's just from watching tele I fully get what you’re saying but Nah not for me. The thought of everyone else playing on 29th and not being able to watch Stoke on what is already a bit of a depressing Christmas would be shite imho. Personally I love watching Sat/midweek. When it returns to 7 day gaps it will feel like an international break🤣

Every other season we had no covid, the league started late and is playing catch up We only started around a month late, no need for all the midweek games thrown together like they have been. We had already played 6 league games in 2019/20 by the date we started the 2020/21 season and we only played 1 game in the Carabao Cup after the end of August, compared to 3 this season, so that is 8 additional midweek games on our schedule. If there are concerns that over the course of the season a number of games may be postponed because of Covid then the fixture list should be front loaded to allow some space of rearranged fixtures.

The new EFL guidelines include stating that players and staff should travel to games in individual cars, or in several coaches??? That cant be real!!! Lambert not very impressed www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/55413489

Our game on 29th v Forest could be off. Awaiting mass test results at Forest☹️ A bit of a none story. It happens every week that players are tested before matches. There is no suggestion that any Forest member of staff or playing squad have the virus and at the moment infection rates are pretty low in Nottingham. Just headline attention seeking which seems to happen all the time.

Absolutely madness from whoever arranged the scheduling.

Surprised Admin have not deleted this thread, any talk of postponements and they get all huffy like it's a big secret.
Will almost certainly be a wide spread 1 month postponement...

Yes they are highly paid professionals, but no pre-season, followed by an immediate run of game after (meaningful) game packed in to a truncated schedule = mass injuries. We saw similar over here with the NFL. No workout regimen REALLY prepares like games. Especially games where the manager is using them to determine his starting lineup.
It's likely that the league did exactly what AlliG said in his post - front-loaded the schedule in anticipation of later postponements. Nobody wants to see it, but the latest rash of postponements suddenly makes me concerned that vincentvega has rightly predicted an imminent shutdown.
A possible contributor: In major college football and the NFL, we have seen a rash of false-positives - when you're testing them multiple times a week, that probability escalates. If you've HAD the disease previously, you have a much better chance of getting a false-positive later. (This happened to me)
I don't know what the figures are in the PL and Championship, but frustratingly we have been unable to get accurate results anywhere, not just in sports. Either way, a positive result means that we STILL must take the proper precautions and can't start second-guessing test results. We need the rest, no doubt - let's just hope it's a brief one.
