Tyson Fury has asked to be removed from the nominees, and has now issued a legal document instructing The BBC to do so.
What a tosser.
Each time he opens his gob I lose a bit of respect for him, which he had previously earned through his efforts regarding mental health issues, but once he gets on twatter he just becomes a classless knob.

Why has he? To seek attention in my opinion. Probably because he didnt win it a couple of years ago, he is saying he does not need the award because he is " The Peoples Champion." Utter lack of class.

As a boxing fan I love him. But I wouldn't trust anything that comes out of his mouth. He talks so much crap it's hard to tell when he's being genuine.

The whole programme is now a bag of shite and just like “a question of sport” I binned it off many many years ago so good for him
As for attention seeking?.....the bloke has got and been treated for serious mental health issues and has gone close to ending it all in a few occasions ...the last thing he wants is attention

Hamilton will win it regardless. Exactly... No point having it. Though I am looking forward to Hamilton bigging up BLM. People need to be reminded of that at every possible opportunity.

I don’t watch the rubbish anyway but that would be another reason not to. As would me being against Hamilton winning it.

Met Tyson Fury after the first Klitschko fight, several months before his fall into depression. He couldn't have been more friendly and forthcoming, an absolute gent.
Can't fathom how someone can be seen as attention seeking for asking to be taken OFF the shortlist for a pointless award. Surely if he wanted attention he'd be all over it like a rash?

He knows he's not going to win, and he does not want to loose anything, so it's easier for him not to be in the competition. It's the equivalent of loosing and saying that he wasn't playing anyway.

With all respect mate that’s bollocks. He lives out of the way in Morecambe so he can get on with his life without too much interference. Every time I’ve seen anything about his home life he comes across as a normal family man. If you read his book he discusses his mental health issues openly and is clear that plaudits, belts and adoration mean nothing and do not lead to happiness or a healthy mind in his opinion. Plus I think he may still have an axe to grind with the bbc from how he was built up then swiftly knocked down after he won his first world title. I love the bloke. He’s a great boxer, great personality and seems like a decent guy.

How they doing it this year.
Can't have a big fancy ceremony and all that can they. Where half of the hour half long program is spent reminding you how you can vote and who for.

Won't be watching as it's a pretty tedious couple of hours at the best of times!
However, I hope Hamilton wins (he will) and then does a black lives matter speech, just for the meltdown it'll provoke on here!

So biased towards Hamilton. Usually when lines open for these awards the last one's profile segment wins it...
