Why the hell are people advocating players like delap We don’t need someone who may be good enough at this level If we’re hoping to maybe nick the last playoff place in jan we need a striker who we know is good enough at this level Delap and his ilk may well be much better than championship eventually But we need someone up and ready to go We’ve already got Vokes tho 😂 I agree though Havent we tried the someone proven at this level a few times already? Vokes, Adobe, Gregory, Ince.... The biggest risk - they are coming for a final pay check, way past thei best, nothing to prove and are not that arsed. It surely has to be a loan of young prem player? Experienced Backup prem striker will be wanted by their club, can’t imagine they’d be much spending again this Jan. Us signing anyone permanently is unlikely due to ffp, but a young upcoming player that has been told/knows they won’t be involved in any game time or only 1-2 cup matches for the next 6 months will be eager, and hopefully for us - wanting to prove to parent club.

We have been linked with Sherwin Seedorf this morning? Yes, this is quoted in 2 or 3 places He's a winger but not a prolific goalscorer. 3 in 38 for Motherwell

Creating them doesn't seem to be the problem after last night, its having someone that knows how to make runs etc to get on the end of them.

Wonder if he would consider Gavin Whyte as a possible option. Certainly not as good as Ty and not capable of replacing him, but could be a low risk cheap option on loan to come in and add competition.
He's a pacey hard working winger who up until his move to Cardiff, had a very good output going forward. When he moved from the Irish league to Oxford United he hit the ground running and was a fan favourite. Not long after he was snapped up by Cardiff for 2 million by Neil Warnock.
When Warnock left his post and Harris came in, opportunities have been extremely limited for Gavin.
To be honest I do think that it may just be that the step up to the championship was one too many or maybe came too soon after his move to full time football.
Michael ONeil has worked with him at Northern Ireland though so he should know better than anyone if he thinks he's capable of playing at this level.
I've seen a few mention Jordan Jones earlier in the thread. Again I think he could potentially be a decent option but not sure if he is at the level stoke require either and has a few question marks over his professionialism and behaviour at rangers

It’s where I’d like us to look, and I don’t have a problem with a couple of loans if it can get us into the top 6. I just don’t know who there is that’s available and that other clubs would loan out

We can forget about even thinking, or trying, for promotion if MON still persists with Hoax, Wince, Dregory and Powelless as the go-to forwards to get goals. They are all useless.

That's the sort of thing the 8 year olds in my class thought was a funny, clever thing to do. So who do you suggest we play? Or should we break FFP and get a 12 point penalty which would prevent promotion anyway and cost us a lot of money? Grow up and realise that sometimes you can't have everything you want and have to make the best of your lot. (That's not aimed particularly at you but everyone who thinks come January we'll be going out and signing some replacement who will be on a level with Tyrese who we are extremely fortunate to have.)

You better forget promotion then, cause he has no choice other than to turn to most of those players. Are you suggesting he instead turn to our u23 /u18 or maybe we just put half a team out, 6 in defence and a keeper?

Can't be any worse than Vokes surely! But more expensive. And what makes you think he would fit into our side when we have been playing Campbell wide right. We will not make any additions to our forward line unless they are young and cheap.

I've just seen him play a few times and thought he was pretty decent. Was a while ago mind and I am aware he's not exactly young.

We all know that MON prefers a 4-3-3 system once everyone is fit. So with that in mind and a probable midfield 3 of Clucas Mikel Allen (as well as Tymon, cousins etc have done) then my question is this. Could Powell play right side of a forward 3? McClean Fletcher Powell
Seems a viable option to me until/if we can bring in a replacement.
Davies Collins Souttar Chester Fox Allen Mikel Clucas Powell Fletcher McClean
Subs Any 9 from... Bursik,Smith,Shawcross,Batth,Cousins,Tymon,Thompson,TOB,Brown,Ince,Verlinden,Vokes,Gregory
I’m sure that team would keep us challenging at the top end.
Ps We’ll leave the goalkeeping debate for another time🤣

Anyone mentioned Shane Long as a possibility? On a loan deal perhaps. Quite a pacey striker with an eye for goal. Maybe Angus Gunn could have a word

Maybe Angus Gunn could have a word Eye for goal 🤣🤣🤣 In all seriousness I’ve always liked Shane Long but he’s very much in the Mama Sidibe role in that he does the running and is a foil for a more talented striker to create and get goals. A quick look at his goal scoring record in recent years will show you that an eye for goal he has not.

It seems Bright Osayi-Samuel's contract is up in the summer, would love to see him playing on the wing for us! Must be one of the paciest wingers in the Championship. Would be the perfect replacement for Campbell!
