Doesn’t need to be a goalscorer just a wide player. The obvious answer is Verlinden and it’s absolutely fucking bonkers that we haven’t seen him there. We've got wide midfielders who don't score, we need a quick wide forward who gets into the box and scores goals. This , we need goals , the players we have right now don’t have enough in them

Not in matches no He is in training apparently and that's for years now. Very frustrating He should be in the team showing what he can do, instead he doesn't listen. When the people at Bolton, a club at its lowest ebb in its entire history, don't want you back re attitude it's a massive problem. Modern footballer syndrome. Where’s that come from? I live in Bolton. The club and fans were desperate to have him back! I didn’t see that bit. The reaction on Twitter when he left was a fanbase that was gutted. What utter rot it is.

Talk of Xavier Amaechi (Eng u20 right winger, formerly of Arsenal, now Hamburg) going to a Champ club on loan. Seems to be Swansea though? www.bild.de/sport/fussball/fussball/hsv-xavier-amaechi-vor-leihe-zu-swansea-city-74685436.bild.htmlwww.fussballtransfers.com/a3441619879794741536-hsv-amaechi-vor-england-leiheXavier Amaechi from Hamburger SV is expected to spend the second half of the season at a club in England. According to the 'Hamburger Morgenpost', the second division team is about to find a loan station for the 19-year-old Englishman. Accordingly, one is confident that a deal will be made before New Year's Eve and that the youngster will be given the much-needed playing time. Amaechi switched to the Red Pants in summer 2019 with great praise from the youth of Arsenal FC. HSV paid 2.5 million euros for the England U20 international. The transfer has not yet paid off for either side. This season, the left foot (contract until 2023) was used for just twelve minutes. Swansea use the loan market so well.

We need to start playing verlinden asap and need a young right winger with pace there must be plenty out there in prem squads and someone like him from Newcastle up front I’ve had a memory block and can’t think of his name. Then we could have a right push for play offs

Are you saying we should sack the manager ??? 🤔 No clearly not. Jesus wept. Tongue in cheek comment but thanks for the reply. Although MON is not exempt from criticism we are very much "work in progress". Happy New year

Hill is an absolute dinosaur. He may be a dinosaur but he’s saying exactly what O’Neil is seeing, verlinden can tie a defender in knots, but you only have to do it once so why do it two or three times ? He has a tendency to play with his head down concentrating on his next party piece instead of having his head up and picking out the earliest and simplistic pass.

Swansea use the loan market so well. These young players go to Swansea because their Manager was in the England set-up, & has worked with them there. It's also because Swansea, like Brentford, have a reputation for playing good football and developing young players. If you're a top level manager with a promising, skilful youngster who you want to send out for experience, you'll send them to a club like that rather than someone like Stoke or Boro who play defensive, attritional football and where he'll barely touch the ball. Although we may get first dibs on any defenders they'd might want to loan out....

It’s almost like he needs a good run of games. This is his big chance, he’s got to go out on the training pitch and prove that he’s the best and can be relied on, if it’s as a substitute, again go and prove that you’re the real deal, he’s 21 now and been at the club for 5years, if he’s not going to do it now then he never will. It’s no point blaming the manager, Verlinden has been cosseted for too long, and we have been down this road too many times with too many players.

His injury came at a bad time in his development and he should probably either be as established as Tyrese by now or no longer with us. He most likely sees it differently.

I'm not knocking the lad but you wouldn't want him covering the left back position, not that he should need to, but the way we have set up the last games would not work. Bottom line MON has not had enough trust in him to do the job he is asking McClean to do. If Fox was not injured things might be different.

It's almost like he needs to listen to his coaches and do what is asked of him. do we know this to be true or is this simply conjecture? I'm just going off what's been posted above about the Bolton coach and things O'Neill has implied. Verlinden is clearly talented and we are desperately in need of something different in the final third so their must be something stopping MON using him. I don't think the change in shape has helped because he definitely isn't a wingback. From the recent interview I read with Verlinden I do wonder if he is struggling mentally with the fear of getting injured again.
