What is the injury? I don’t have time to plough through the thread so a 5 word answer would be awesome Serious knee injury. Its on the stoke site That's eight words. You're out.

So this is why they said 'could be' out for rest of the season?
At least it's not ligaments, there's a slim chance he might be back before the end of the season?

Articular Cartilage injury. 12-18 weeks out + rehabilitation. I know bugger all about Articular Cartilages, but have to think no ligament damage and a return in 3-4 months is a win in the circumstances. Worst comes to worst, we’ll be going into next season with the best striker in the league on our books. We just need to fill the gaps around him to ensure he bangs in the 20+ goals he should.

Obviously once his injury has healed he will then have to undergo lots of work to get his general fitness back up to scratch so I still think it’s pushing it for this season. There’s no reason why he can’t join the first team for pre season training and play a full part on the assumption that there are no setbacks.

He’s only 20 and getting him back without any serious damage to his knee has to be the priority. He’s potentially going to fire us to promotion or be sold for big money so seems daft to rush him back prematurely, given his value over the long term.

What a blow to Campbell and the club. Ty was our best bet for goals and our only genuinely exciting player.

"We had to slow down Joe’s rehab at a point when he was feeling a little pain and we’re getting the benefit of that now with Joe being available to us." Benefit 😁

And the news is...no news!
Apart from 'knee' have we ever learned what the injury is?

And the news is...no news! Apart from 'knee' have we ever learned what the injury is? I keep wondering if I have missed something from the club, but there hasn’t been anything has there? I don’t need nor expect to know the private life of the lad, but it is usual practice to say there has been surgery, undergoing rehab, long road etc etc....but nothing. I can’t help thinking something else is going on, but what?

Really tough for Tyrese, but sensible rehab is the way forward It also may mean he is with the club for longer, although of course it would be best for him and the club is he was firing us to a top 6 finish right now Benefit 😁

The lack of information around the injury is puzzling given there's precious little to hang your hat on with no live football. You'd think disseminating information is a good way to keep fans involved and interested.

I totally agree with everyone's comments on this subject and the lack of actual comments from the club on Campbell's injury is an interesting one. We know its not ACL so we can conclude its some kind of cartlidge injury, the worst being articular cartlidge, so that would be my guess.

I think it's good the club haven't commented on the injury specifics. They're essentially protecting the player when he returns, so the conversation isn't a, 'no one ever comes back from this, will he be a mess' etc.
Could be a bad one, time will tell but it won't do him any favours to have everyone talking about will he/won't he be the same player.

Hi, No I'm not, but I am a fully qualified sports masseur and I have a background in knowledge on everything to do with knees. The club probably won't go into the exact details so as to protect the player, and their interests.

Whilst you’re here, can you tell us if there’s such a condition as “his legs have gone” and if so, what causes it?

You know.....the one we were waiting to happen to Demba Ba after we didn’t sign him because he was high risk for this syndrome. He went to West Ham, 10 years and several clubs later and it still hasn’t exploded after over 250 games and 100 goals.

His legs have gone - yes very well known this is, I can recall it happening to John Terry in the world cup , when he looked as though he was running in quick sand. As to causes of this, thats a tad more difficult to diagnose, but I would hazard a guess to him being a complete knob!

Excellent stuff. I may well have missed it, or it’s been kept tightly under wraps, but that’s the most positive piece I’ve seen on the injury so far and to see he still has both legs is a bonus.😂😂
