And you've chosen to concentrate on the daft comment and be patronising rather than the wider point. We've got plenty of wide players but lacking a goal scoring striker at the moment. We've spent money on Alfie where we appear to be covered whereas up front we have nothing. But if it makes you better stick to the patronising bullshit. I wasn’t intending to be patronising - but if ya seem to want it to get personal. My points weren’t bullshit though we’re they - they are very realistic points regarding our situation. I wasn’t particularly jibing at you for calling MoN daft - but more using it to as a spring board to the point that many of our supporters do have a rather bullshit sense of reality when it comes to our club. Points everybody already knows about but thats your MO. And I didnt say your points were bullshit I said patronising bullshit which it was.

Ah ok, well actually I don’t really like to get pedantic over words/points etc - but yeah it’s pretty evident form many posts and contributors on this forum that they aren’t aware of a lot of those points. So yes the MO on my part was to try and illustrate to some of our support that life and football isn’t as straight forward as ‘just go get a striker in’ and then to be disappointed when it doesn’t happen and for the rather lazy boring criticism that is just banded around towards people at our club that don’t deserve it. If you want to get pernickety over everything - go for it. The more you are saying on the matter the less about football it is becoming.

If you’re not joking, you’re in absolute fantasy land. So I do hope you are actually having a laugh. They can have Vokes and Brown to sweeten the deal. Keep off the whiskey march!

Getting the transfer business done early is great, but no more incomings don't off make it a dull last week of the window with no rumours etc ☹️.

I can see dealing day being manic for a lot of clubs as moves start to happen and different players become available

If we can’t get rid of the usual suspects then Collins will be gone.

I can't imagine for a second that Collins's status (especially him!) is contingent in any way on what happens with other players in the squad. O'Neill wouldn't stand for it. The only ways that Collins goes in this window is if A - we are made the proverbial "offer we can't refuse; B - O'Neill sanctions it (which I doubt he would) or C - The player demands a transfer. I cannot see any of these scenarios happening.
I don't believe for a second that we will actively be trying to sell the player. In that circumstance, if I was O'Neill, I'd walk.

Not sure if it’s that simple mate. We need to make some inroads into our massive wage bill and it doesn’t look like anyone’s interested in taking any of the dead wood off our hands. The only other way around FFP is selling someone for decent money. As much as MON probably dislikes this, he’s known it from day one and we might just have no other choice.

But why do we need to sell now as opposed to in the summer when we might get more for him and have the rest of the season gaining him league experience?

D - MON sanctions it, because he would then be able to buy several quality players, including a replacement rb and a cf.

If an offer can in from one of the big Bois and we refuse it could then in turn create scenario C. There’s also: E - the board say that it has to happen to balance the FFP books F - it’s a small amount of most of the above that makes it happen. I truly hope we can dodge selling any youngsters and they go on to help create a good solid spine for years to come but MoN hasn’t sent out any notion of ‘hands off’ and he has said there’s interest in our younguns (when he was asked about shifting deadwood) 😞

Kind of a shame we can’t get Afobe back. He’s still a better striker than Vokes. I’d be very surprised if we managed to get a striker in this window.

Makes sense Doesn’t O’Neill live or lived in Edinburgh Maybe he’s doing his own homework Perhaps Michael has got out TP'S old Managers Guide that he found in the office. Rule 1. You can't have too many defenders. Rule 2. If you have got several central defenders, you can always use one at full back.

The striker that Warnock said would be choosing between 3-4 clubs for a last minute loan is now not being allowed to leave. www.gazettelive.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/middlesbrough-double-transfer-blow-leaves-19700778"I'm not close at all really. "The two lads I thought we had a great chance with last week, in the last 24 hours the Premier League managers have said they're not letting them out. So it's been a devastating week really. "In one particular case, I was told two days ago it was 100% happening. To find out things have changed is disappointing to say the least. They said certain players they were expecting to be fit haven't got fit in time so they can't risk fringe players going out."
