Unfill the corner - it's been a bad omen for us. Get rid of it and the good times will roll again.
Plus, we might even be able to see a bit of live footy

He'd be perfect, wouldn't he? Is he out of contract this season as well? Still only 25. I can’t see him staying at Preston beyond this season. It will be interesting to see where he ends up. He's got Burnley written all over him.

We now need an inspired loan signing as we've lost our most creative player for the foreseeable future from the sounds of it.
I really rate Daniel Johnson at Preston, out of contract next summer, Preston may be desperate, chuck a million at them.
Loan Liam Delap

We now need a pacey striker. With guaranteed playing time you’d like to think we could get a PL loan for a U23

Jack Byrne, please. Out of contract in January. Will come cheap by championship standards. 24 years old. Dead-ball expert. Always looking to create, and always wants the ball. He's exactly what we need.

Any central striker wouldn't be guaranteed time with Fletcher here though, would they?
That's the problem we'd have with Delap, although he clearly seems good enough to make an impact for anyone at this level.
And, of course, the problem we have is the drop-off in any chunk of any game that Fletcher isn't on the pitch.
But maybe top Prem loans would come to start the majority of games - and would Delap do that here if Fletcher was fit?
There's definitely an opening for a good loanee who can play wide in a three though.

Byrne is more comfortable in a deeper role to Powell, yet his scoring record is impressive. He also takes penalties. He's a sort of a "Xavi type"; he's very calm in tight situations. In my view, there's plenty of room for both he and Powell in the one side; with Powell pushing further forwards, perhaps. Powell can go missing for spells during games. Byrne looks to be involved all the time.
As you can probably guess, I like him a lot! I think he'd be perfect for us. He plays for a club that MO'N managed, and won a league with. MO'N has already worked his magic on Collins and Campbell, both of whom looked liked they were headed for the door. He could easily have the same impact on Byrne.

No one can afford to turn down money if a player will soon be out of contract I think it did does mate we just wasted money on the wrong players and only now is it biting back with the FFP rules, I suppose if he is out of contract and won't sign a new one it would make sense to try and get as much as they could for him but unless we ship several players out in Jan which I very much doubt we'll go down the loan route.

I also wanted a new right back, but with Collins doing so well there I don't think it's a priority any longer. I also think Fox is a very solid left back, but he is not an attacking wingback though. As long as we play 4 at the back I don't think we need new defenders. With Allen back I don't think we need new midfielders either. I still think though that Campbell is our only attacking option with both pace and quality, so for me another attacker with pace and good ball control is what we need. McClean is OK, but he certainly lacks quality when it comes to skills and decisions. Anyway he works hard and got decent pace and he also seems to be able to run forever. Maybe difficult to bring in any better at our level right now? I'm really not that impressed by Brown and would certainly pick Ince ahead of him when he is played as a right winger. Brown's ball control is really bad in my opinion and his decisons are mostly shite as well. A pity really as he is an honest worker who gives his best, but unfortunately too little quality for me here. I really doubt we will bring anyone in as long as we can't get anyone out, but it would really help if we could shift Wimmer, Bauer, Lindsay, Vokes, Ince and Gregory for a pacy quality attacker!

Every penny of cash we have available needs to go on a Campbell replacement. He’s the only player we don’t have a replacement for and we are going to miss his output massively.

Any central striker wouldn't be guaranteed time with Fletcher here though, would they? Fletcher doesn’t usually last the 90 when he is fit, same for Campbell too. I think a striker on loan would get plenty of playing time even if it’s 30-40 minute spells as a sub initially. With so many games and injuries I think we could do with another striker as we can’t rely on Vokes or Gregory for goals.
