Tipping point new format now offers awful pkayers even more chance to embarrass themselves, as they've got rid of the first elimination round.

Just been watching an old Bullseye whilst finishing of the dregs of my Saturday beer. Jim Bowen - Where in Somerset did Joseph leave the holy grail and the miraculous flowering thorn? Paul - Wales!!!! Funnily enough that's almost understandable... as the story goes... during the dissolution of the monasteries, the monks at Glastonbury abbey fled to Strata Florida abbey in Wales, taking their valuables with them, which included the holy grail. There's more...when Henry VIII's henchmen later turned up at Strata Florida, all the monks there fled again, and they hid all their valuable objects, except for the holy grail, which turned up at Nanteos Mansion in the keeping of 7 monks. Its still there to this day. Well, it was, but it was stolen (those news reports are funny lol). Then it was miraculously found again and is now at the National Library of Wales, in Aberystwyth, for safe keeping. The rest of the hidden treaure has never been found! Locally, if ever people are desperate for cash, instead of saying the usual "we'll just have to win the lottery then", they're likely to say "well we'll just have to find the Strata Florida treasure." Obviously, I need to get out more

Mark today excelled by answering how many wheels a mono cycle had?
Answer FOUR! 🤪😀
To add insult to injury he went from zero to getting through to the second round !!

But the monocycle reminded me of something that's puzzled me for ages, concerning "binoculars"... a binocular is so named because it has two eye pieces. So why do we all call it a "pair of binoculars"? Its like calling a bicycle a pair of bicycles. As you were 😅

Fucking hell, i even bore myself sometimes!

Gonna have to think of a funny quiz answer now, just to redeem myself, after starting all that!

Could be old this, but still worth a bump. A classic example of mis-communication that I was posting about recently on the environmental thread. The contestant didn't listen to the question but answered the question they expected to be asked, i.e. " What day does Christmas day fall on this year?"The contestant never expected such an easy question, so his brain was in automatic mode and answered what it expected to be asked and "ignored" what was actually said.
