I think it was bayernoatcake recently calling for his inclusion..... I'll say no more. He should start at the weekend if Fletcher isn’t fit.

Or God forbid smash the fucker. One of his most infuriating traits, not pulling the trigger when he should Surely its up to our coaching staff to spot it and have him shooting every day in training? Do it so much that he doesn’t have to think about it. If you need to coach a player to shoot when hes on the edge of the penalty area at the age of 28, he doesn't deserve to be coached.

I think it was bayernoatcake recently calling for his inclusion..... I'll say no more. He should start at the weekend if Fletcher isn’t fit. I can't see how anyone can justify his inclusion, whilst keeping a straight face. He's had multiple opportunities to demonstrate what he's about. Every time, he's done exactly that. He's fucking shit. That said, I'd prefer him to Tymon. In fact, anyone but Tymon. Is that how desperate things have become?

Unfair criticism I think. He wasn't brilliant but much better than Tymon. His passing was good and he switched play to Campbell on the other side well. He has lost confidence in his shooting but has played less than 45 minutes football this season before tonight. I think I'm right in saying he didn't even get a run out in the cup. He put in a lot more effort than I was expecting considering the fact that he seems to have been totally overlooked in a position we've struggled. He's a better player than Brown or Tymon.

Brown shouldn’t be starting. Tymon should only play as a winger or in central midfield. So if Fletcher is out you’re left with Gregory, Ince or Verlinden for me. And I’d go Ince with Campbell up top and Powell nominally on the left.

He has lost confidence in his shooting ,but yet he still wanted to take a free kick .Doesnt make sense mate If you watch the free kicks he took at Derby he is a good dead ball player and scored some great goals from just outside the penalty area in open play too. As a professional sportsman he knows he has got to do what he knows he is good at and probably in training does every day. But once you have that little bit of self doubt little things change in your technique and this is the situation Tom is in at the moment. It didn't help last season that when he did do things right the gk seemed to save them or a defender got a deflection which will make him think he's got to try to put the ball nearer the post or top corner. Confidence is so important and the only way to get it back is to keep trying until eventually you succeed. Hiding from taking free kicks will just make it worse so it makes eminent sense. It's not as if our other free kick takers have been knocking them in or forcing the gk into saves.

He just looks like he really, really hates playing football. You should have added 'matches at the moment'. Unfortunately us fans played a part in that last season. When he was playing well earlier in his career I bet he loved it and I'd like to bet he enjoys training cos for someone who has hardly played this season he looked fit and lively. I just wonder how he fits in in the changing room as he always looks a bit lonely to me. I read an article about a young player over the weekend whose manager had been really worried about him because he never spoke to anyone and the manager said you generally don't succeed in football if you don't mix with the other players.

Tom Ince is terrible. Meek, pulls out of tackles, rarely looks for the ball (watch him when we have a throw in, he’ll actually move to a position where he can’t receive the ball) and appears totally disinterested. We’d have gotten a better return from a turnip! I want to complain about the apparent level of anti-turnip feeling on this messageboard. At a time when we in Somerset have made great strides in improving the image of the Turnip we get this. There are several posts on this thread that in seeking to characterize and measure the utter ineptness of the player Tom Ince, suggest that he is in some way on a level of this esteemed vegetable. The post quoted here implies that a Turnip is in some way deficient. This is simply not good enough. How can we rebuild the reputation of the Turnip and earn it some respect if it has to suffer the ignomony of being compared to these inadequate humans? As some readers of the "Everything Else" Oatie pages will be aware I reported on Somerset's Turnip Prize within the last week. The Turnip Prize here, now in its 20th year, is a prestigious cultural award given to an alternative well meaning amateur art submission. It is synonomous with poor quality, and pointless and generally sub standard material, that shows little actual effort going into its presentation and that promises much in intent but very little in its display and delivery. . . . . Oh! Ok carry on. Ince is a Turnip.

That's a really good point. I just wonder if he ended up in football because of both his obvious talent and his dad's legacy, when he'd really rather be doing something else? A bit like Assou-Ekotto was, a true professional but not really in his true vocation.

Let’s go back to 4-2-3-1 and have Powell in the central role.

Someone needs to put their arm around him and get him taking a few more risks Or use that arm to push him into a taxi on a one way trip. Get him playing like he played for Blackpool or Derby and we'd have a great attacking threat with 4 players who can dribble, score, do the unexpected and worry defenders. With Clucas arriving late with his goal threat we'd have some great matches. At Derby I think Ince was effective because Tom Lawrence posed an equal threat on the other side. I don't think he can do it by himself which in general he's been asked to do at Stoke.
