It occurred to me that yesterday was the 28th anniversary of the start of that long run that led us ultimately winning the 1st Division under Lou with a 3-1 win at Blackpool on a very wet day . Stein scored and I wondered whether Campbell will follow in the boots of the “ Golden One” with the same sureness in front of goal ? It just struck me as a happy coincidence. On a more somber note many people in Leek raised a glass at 3pm to the memory of Jim Lockett ( Locko) . I am sure from the stand in the Elysium Fields he was urging them on and ensuring that Stoke edged ahead in the 45th minute, his age when he left us Attachment Deleted

21st November is the anniversary of us hitting top spot after beating Blackpool. We stayed.there until May. Fantastic.
The unbeaten run started with a 0-0 draw at home to Notlob. The unbeaten run was initially frustrating because it was draws. Beating WBA 4-3 was the real pivotal point.

I’m getting the impression that you’re alluding to the fact that we will beat Norwich on Tuesday to go top, and stay their till May again Joe. You tease you.....

Someone mentioned that promotion run a few weeks ago, particularly the game away at Hartlepool when Gleghorn got the winner. We won 7 consecutive League games during that run, with the two 2-2 at Brighton ending the run of wins. Steno played every single League game that season, 46 in total, scoring 26 goals

Great memories! A great win in awful conditions. The Rooster show and a great run by Graham Shaw for one of the goals
