It wasn’t a disaster by any means but clearly the defence were shielding him because they were worried about him coming for crosses

I thought he did ok. The back four in front of him need to have a look at themselves, not getting touch tight when the play was right up on the edge of the box, not marking, all standing square instead of dropping off when they broke through our midfield, they just weren't concentrating gutted we won?

We didn't lose, it was a last-minute equaliser. I was there I do seem to remember that the goal was late in the game. Yes about 93 mins I think

I don't think that on contemporary evidence we are worse off with Bursik than we were with Butland. A colleague in London said to me that Jack was formerly England's number one and can still become an excellent keeper if he refinds his form. However he also said that by joining premier league Crystal Palace he had already added a "0" to his rating. He is now England's goalkeeper number 10.

It was his first game and our defenders didn't help him out at all with their keystone cops antics. I felt a bit sorry for him actually. The manager should have realised sooner than he did too and added an extra defender in there once he realised what was happening. Let's just be relieved he didn't add Chester...

As long as he's just cover for Bursik I can live with that.....

Shot stopping over/under performance from the current free agent keepers who've played in the Championship/Premier League since 2014/15. Angus Gunn included as a baseline. Only two worth a look. Massive mystery how Lee Camp has managed to play 160 games over the last six seasons. View AttachmentAccording to Tachyon's number crunching, Lonergan is maybe the best of the bunch available - but the better of his stats were 5 years ago!

And his 2017-18 metrics at Leeds don't look great (but he only played 7 games)
Beggars can't be choosers though
Don't suppose many keepers would be prepared to sign for only a couple of months - probably looking at veteran Brits only

Bar Gunn he's the best keeper in that list by a mile.

Luke Steele would be the only other viable keeper for a short term deal bar Lonergan......

Andy Lonerhan, phew, thought it was Lonnie Donegan, king of skiffle for a split second!

I've never heard of Nicky M on that list - why no enthusiasm for him? If he actually plays for somebody else then ignore me.

Andy Lonergan or not, I hope he sticks with Bursik. I’d be royally annoyed if I’ve been recalled for regular game time for a mere one appearance.

Always thought Lonergan was alright myself. Short term deal surely benefits everyone

I think it makes sense to get an experienced keeper in, wether that be Lonergan, Rob Elliot or Lee Camp
It’s a huge ask to expect a pretty much unproven 20 year old to play twice a week until what could be the end of the season. Makes sense to me

I would be happier to see an experienced keeper.

Experienced keeper on the bench to start with If Bursik needs taking out of the side then fine but let's give him a few games. Otherwise would have been better to leave him at Doncaster getting games

Makes sense to me We're still in October, if everything was normal. Why would Davies' and Gunn's injuries have them out until the end of the season? Last I heard Davies was out for another 2-4 weeks, and Gunn for slightly longer.

Makes sense to me If Bursik is playing Saturday you can be bloody sure Pulis will make sure he gets tested by an aerial bombardment.

It's going to be Lonergan.
Can't say I know much about him other than average keeper. Be OK for backup I suppose.

www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p08xz9g443:05 MON saying the additional keeper should be here within 24-48 hours. Interview with Nixon saying last time he checked we hadn't managed to agree terms with Lonergan after going in for him over the weekend "so it could be someone else". Says it's currently 50-50 "if they come up with the money, but not sure they will" Interesting point that whoever it is will probably be playing in the League Cup QF as Bursik is cup-tied and the other 2 may not be ready. Seems to think Bursik will remain No.1
