How shit is this? We’re finally looking a good side and have two big injury blows... hope Bursik carries the momentum we’ve built.

Why are we trying to sign another keeper? I’m sure Bursik will do fine. You don’t get u21 caps for England if you’re crap

Sensible to play Batth in front of him, just for his leadership skills IMO Down to all of them to keep the ball and play an attacking game.
We concede 2 or 3, then we need to score 3 or 4 It’s all about the result

Shilton wanted to control and organise his defence and it took a while for everyone to get used to this. And then there was the occasion when he rushed out to clear the ball and missed his kick, allowing the opposition (can’t remember who) to score. So he made a dodgy start but was fine after that. Newcastle United Alan Gowling the scorer......Lost 2-1 at home. OMG it's both amazing & sad the stuff we remember! Thanks for the extra memories. Watched from The Paddock!

The good old Google search of a player. The same Google searches that showed Brek Shea to be a world class footballer! Having seen him in action in the flesh I can say he'd be more than good enough to act as short term cover for us.. Villa fans liked him and he was at Villa at a time when they had good cover, Heaton was in pole position prior to getting injured and Jed Steer was a more than competent back up keeper at the time Nyland was there too. Folk on here were slagging Adam Davies's brief performances & mistakes off last season and look how he's been for us this season! Butlands been atrocious for us in the last couple of seasons, even losing his subs place for us on occasions this season but Premier League Palace have seen the potential in him & trusting him to be their back up keeper now. A good run for Palace if he gets a chance could really kick start his career back up.. Good back up keepers who are 3rd choice or out or contract and free agents are always going to be a gamble & potential risk. That's why they aren't playing regularly for a team. Who'd have ever thought Lee Grant would be as good as he was for us when we signed him from Derby when he was 3rd possibly 4th choice back then?! IMHO Nyland would do us a job. You clearly disagree, that's absolutely fine. But rather than commenting that he's shite coz you've seen him on the TV and done a quick google search, offer a suggestion of who you'd have in if your knowledge of keepers is so vast & meaningful Gazzaniga from spurs is a 3rd choice keeper, maybe him or Grant but who knows who is available or who would come. Butland will be palace’s 3rd choice keeper not 2nd Nyland would be a terrible signing but for what it’s worth if he were to sign I would hope he does and would not be on his back for every little thing Show me where I’ve slagged of Davies when he signed for stoke and that comment would be relevant You know best though because you are always on the Holte end watching Villa. Lol! & I thought you were beginning to have a rational discussion at the start your last reply. To correct you on Butland, he is Palace's reserve keeper, he was straight on their bench after recovering from CV19 in the their last game before international break. I've never said or insinuated that YOU personally slagged Davies off, was merely drawing a comparison that people have slagged keepers off before just as you've been doing about Nyland & they can come good! & as per your last paragraph.. funny 👏🏻😴

Collins did that in the presence of Shawcross when he (Collins) was still only 17. But it's still Ryan when he comes back and Batth who call the shots.

What Ive written is factual. You've simply speculated he'll be 3rd choice! Just as people did when Hart signed on at Spurs. He's made the sub keeper role his own. Stephen Henderson was substitute goalkeeper after Hennessy got injured and while Butland was self isolating. As soon as Butland was recovered he was was sub keeper so for now he's 'reserve' & backup keeper, just as ive stated. & I'll imagine he'll keep that spot even when Hennessy recovers. But time will tell on that.. Butland may get a chance & make himself first choice in the mean time, thats the nature or football, things change all the time, especially for goalkeepers as our own current circumstances are showing. Doesnt really matter does it..

It's a weird life for a goalkeeper, this opportunity that has fell into the lap of Bursik could be the making of him, he must be buzzing.
Please, be patient with him, he's bound to be nervous, just hope he copes.

One slight concern is that Bursik is cup tied in the League Cup having played in that competition for Doncaster according to Wiki. Hopefully Davies is both fit and match fit by the time we play Spurs.

I really fancy Bursik will take his chance. The coaching staff will be all over him and I've no particular reason to doubt him. He will be looking at Collins, Ty, Souttar at al. and thinking all his Christmas's have come at once.
Good luck to the lad. COYMP.

He went back out on loan but was an U21 regular at the time.
