He’s the only player we have who is remotely capable of maintaining controlled possession Edit maybe excepting Powell Our ball retention today has been appalling. Is it ever any better? Kind of my point. But Mikel stands out in that regard.

Three points off top with a game against the top team midweek - what a place to be!

Feel knackered after watching that! Massive shame there was no crowd, would have been an incredible atmosphere.

Get in there. We were well under the cosh until O'Neil made those substitutions. Superb management. We would undoubtedly have lost, let alone drawn with his decisions to somehow shore things up. We saw the game out easily from 82 minutes through to the end. Five at the back saved us in the end. We have to protect this young goalie for the next month so I’m all in favour of a return to 3-4-3.

If we win by two goals on Tuesday and have a weird set of results elsewhere, we could go top.

What a game, well played Stoke. We were shaky at the back but so good at the other end of the pitch that it didn't cost us, I'm shattered now though after watching that.

We're not the greatest side ever but we have goal scorers, a manager who has imbued the side with far better game management than we have seen since Macari and we have a plan in that we press right up the front.
When FFP allows us to add quality we will be a real force. Patience till then.

If we win by two goals on Tuesday and have a weird set of results elsewhere, we could go top. We would actually only need to win 1-0 to go above Norwich as we've scored more goals than them and we'd be tied on GD and points.

The Fletcher / Campbell dream team is something to truly celebrate
For the first time in years we look an attacking threat

So much quality goals wise and dire defending as team. Held on for the win. 3 points is what matters.

Huddersfield looked a decent team to be fair, we really must stop hanging on at home every game, when we are away from home & chasing the game we never put teams under so much constant pressure. It was wave upon wave from about 70 mins..

I will never be convinced that the subs were anything other than fucking mental. But I guess that's why I'm sitting at home drinking extremely dry white wine and O'Neil is managing Stoke!

Great win but we were pretty appalling bar the front 3.
Absolutely have to do almost everything better bar finishing and pressing. That was excellent and Fletcher, Powell and Campbell were brilliant with it.

Fuck me that was hard won.
We must improve defensively. Baath improved once Collins came on. Fullbacks were shocking. Bursik should’ve done better with a couple but redeemed himself later on, and is a kid at the end of the day being asked to step up a few levels.
Campbell and Fletcher were excellent going forward. Campbell offered much more defensively than previously and looks like his fitness is getting there.
Mikel was good. Clucas improved. Powell needs to read where his teammates are and get on the same wavelength.
Got to do better though when we haven’t got the ball. So many times switching off and letting players run past, either not handing them over or tracking them and it nearly cost us today.

Three at the back midweek please. It almost certainly will be, there’s no way we’ll play that open against Norwich. That could be the last we see of a back four for a while.
