Just going say the same thing mate one of the players i absolutely detested in the 70"s thinks he"s a hard man I think I read or heard somewhere that he ended up in prison after his playing days. I will Wikki him after the program. EDIT. Yes I am right. Numerous offences inc keeping a brothel and dealing in counterfeit coins🙄⚓️

Great game despite the pitch. Perhaps it’s my age but I thought this was the game that we won 1-0 so you can imagine my disappointment when Eddy Kelly scored their equaliser 5 minutes from time.
Thanks for the heads up.

Just going say the same thing mate one of the players i absolutely detested in the 70"s thinks he"s a hard man Peter Storey really deserved all the Pantomime villain attention he got. Horrible on and off the pitch. His main role was to cause damage to players of skill, something he mastered to a fine art. The long arm of the Law caught up with him eventually though.

How the hell we didn’t win that by three goals I don’t know. A broken leg or four too far really. Sure we would have won the title with the missing quartet to call upon.

Wow that kit still looks amazing, and Hudson just oozes class, did he actually kiss the ball when he gave it to TC at a throw in ?, I noticed him sprinting off at the end ready for a top night of birds and booze down the Kings Road, for those who think football started with the awful PL, this was proper footy, played by real players, and real men, not ponces as today, I enjoyed all the other games too, and some of those retro kits were stunning, Stoke's of course, but Palace, Leicester, Everton away, and Carlisle too, I thoroughly enjoyed that as ever, I just wish there was minimal football on tv now as there was then, the saturation, boredom, money, and over hype is sucking the life out of the game, and really alienating so many fans of a certain age who may well never return to stadiums when this awful pandemic is finally over, give me the 70s and 80s any day.

Oh and 3 games in 4 days over Easter period too, not one grumble or strop, just got on with it, West Ham away on Good Friday, Arse away on the Saturday, Liverpool home on BH Monday, can you imagine the poncey over paid ballerinas doing that now ??, and as for the modern coaches, well they would of been pissing they're nappies, proper men, proper players, proper togger.

Proper footbow, No "tippy tappy" stuff. We should have won the league that year. Lost at Sheffield United late in the season, Shilton gave a penalty away I seam to remember. Yet another quiet return journey from back Sheffield that night.

The Arsenal game today, and the West Ham game shown a few weeks back, I’ve never seen before. They’re were certainly not on YouTube prior to these transmissions. I hope some more gems can be unearthed in the ITV archive. This is the only telly I look forward to, great stuff.

Now that's football.
Quagmire of a pitch. No sponsors plastered all over kits. Refs checking players' boots as they come on. Players with sideburns, comb overs and names like Armstrong and Trebilcock. A B C D boards to keep track of scores. Slo mo replays. Toilet rolls being lobbed onto the pitch. Players in the studio who look like murderers.
Give me that over 'Tunnel Club' (which sounds like a rave night) any day.

Enjoyed that It just makes you realise what a bunch of overpaid pussies the modern day footballer is There’s no way in hell they’d play on pitches like that More misty eyed nostalgia nonsense ...Of course they would And don’t kid yourself that footballers back then weren’t well paid in comparison to the working bloke Granted it’s not in comparison as to today but they were well paid non the less Absolutely. Can go on about tackling, pitches etc but those players would never be compared fitness wise to today either so works both ways. Different era etc and such as myth that it was all so much better back then. Football wasn't t the global game either, 10,000 ish crowds at many top flight games outside Anfield and Old Trafford but you"d think every ground was full the way some go on and the quality so good.
