I think given our lack of spending since MON came in, and the management / squad rotation applied in a very measured way (I’m predicting a Swansea type side on Wednesday), we’re in very good shape so far this season.
We’re picking up the wins we’re expected to get - and the game management so far has been very good. We could surprise a few people this season and are well positioned already. MON is a shrewd guy and he’s clearly got a plan..

At the moment we're averaging 1.75 points per game, which if we continue will put us on 80.5 points across 46 games. If we averaged 1.75 points per game last season we would have finished 5th, to put that into context West Brom finished 2nd with 83pts and Forest finished 7th with 70pts.
Now I zero expectations to be pushing for automatic promotion or ever finishing comfortably in the play offs at the end of this season but I'm glad we are being competitive this season. Truth be told I'd be delighted if we finished in the top 10 this season
Two cheap signings, Fletcher and Mikkel, have made a world of difference. The defense is still shaky at both fullback positions; however, we didn’t have any money to spend because of FFP rules and Soutar has been excellent. Only one team has scored more goals than Stoke. So we can’t really complain. It is a hell of a lot better than this time last season.
