That could easily be a 4-3-3 btw.. any news on whats been said to Nige? Or even better 4-2-3-1 but then you wouldn't want to be playing Thompson and Mikel in there if that was the case.

It’s like picking who you want to sleep with your wife but I’d rather see Gregory on the bench than Vokes.

Surely it'll have Powell in the front three instead of McLean? If its 343 then yes It could be 4231 or 433

Definitely better without Vokes up front and no Chester. 😎

Is Gregory injured? I'd rather have seen him on the bench than Vokes - especially after Vokes' display against Swansea.

Fox plays again - how many times?? 43. He's an O'Neill signing, so of course he plays. And we keep conceding. He has finally dropped Chester so I expect him to jettison Fox as well.

Considering the back 3 is here to stay forever (it seems) it's about as good as I could've hoped for. No Chester with Powell, Campbell and Fletcher starting is enough to make me happy though. So frustrating that this is sure to be a 3-4-3 despite the fact that we are playing 3 players out of position to do so (Powell, McClean and Fox) when if it was a 4-2-3-1 everyone would play in their natural position.

That would be my choice in a 4.2.3.1 except Clucas or Allen for Thompson when fit. Think it still might be 3.4.3 today though.

Fox plays again - how many times?? Only other fit centre half is Lindsay who looked absolutely shot last time he played at Derby so no choice. Any way Fox is an OK defender who gets harshly treated on here. Batth is no better yet seems to be a hero.

You can get your hopes down right away...Chester is injured, so with a bleeding heart O'Neill was forced to leave him out, Same thing last week when Fox was not playing...he was injured. Any manager will feel he is judged by the signings he makes, so he cannot contemplate dropping his own signed players, as that would be admitting he made a poor signing. A few more transfer windows down the line O'Neill will have signed more than 11, and then dropping can commence.

Which do you think would be worse though, keep selecting said players and having them continue to fail or realise the mistake and drop them due to poor form for the betterment of the team? I hope he decides the latter.

Decent team. Hope he ditches the 3 at the back and goes 4231. If he does we'll win it comfortably.

Only you could prefer that option I'd prefer a traffic cone to Vokes. I had a knee operation yesterday and can't move yet I'm still more mobile than Vokes.

There’s a good team there if we went with a back 4.

What happened to Collins? Is he injured or just being left out of the squad?

Well, I'm glad that my beginning frustration was for naught. It definitely looked more solid as a 4-2-3-1. Never expected him to play that.
