Great discussion about football and the the bigger picture,we’ve been mentioned a couple of times Yeh. Always speaks a lot of sense and I agree with everything he says. I always like listening to both him and merson. Both always have great admiration and liking of Stoke and everything we brought to the table, unlike many others that just liked to criticise us.

Apparently a lot of premier league chairman(Steve Parish especially)not happy about money going down the pyramid when certain championship owners(us) are richer anyhow.Neville said we’d been In their 10 years and deserved what share we’d get just as much as any other team.

I don’t see how any fan could disagree with what he said to be honest

He made some excellent points and came across as someone who cares a lot about the game. His references to us were complimentary and opposite to the usual views about us. I am not a fan of Carragher, however, on this occasion the point he made about other clubs and the asset stripping of Wigan was sadly true. It didn't reflect well on clubs with the way they looked to take advantage of their situation. The game needs a massive shake up and Gary Neville seems as good a candidate as anyone to fix things, I particularly liked the way he expresssed his disgust with the £14.95 pay for view games. That is a great example of one of the things wrong today with our game...some work to be done for sure.

Know its a while back now but amongst the few pundits who always gave Stoke a creditable mention in the Premier League was Alan Hansen.
Always thought Stan Collymore when he was on Talksport was in the pro Stoke camp to.

loved what he said, except it's pronounced 'etcetera, not 'ecsetra'

Parish should know that it is irrelevant how much bet365 COULD put into Stoke City when FFP means that, effectively, they are not allowed to put that money in. That's the problem. Any money the Premier League puts into the EFL is treated as legitimate income, whereas any money the owners put in (above a certain modest level) is treated by FFP as an illegal subsidy. Once a club (any club) in the Championship has too many players with a high book value and high wages on long contracts and who they can't sell, they have severe FFP problems - even if their owners are prepared to put £billions into the club.

[br Lakeland I agree but isn’t that about abandoning FFP for a period which would allow money to go to those who need it , I knew that’s not their call but it’s one to lobby for

Got to say, I’m very happy to listen to both of them. Liked hearing them talk about the football pyramid, rather than just the premier.
However, it’s not their money, so they can be happy just to sit there and say things need to change without any (/much) reductions to their bottom line.
More annoyingly, they don’t bring on anyone with an opposing view. It would be good to hear from someone who was working within that project, so that a real discussion can be created. At present, Carragher and Neville sound great, both agreeing with eachother and generally picking up the sentiment of many fans; however, wouldn’t it be nice to actually learn what the other side had to say in any way other than through their condemnation in often sloppy news articles?
