I just saw a picture Jimmy mac uploaded on insta of him and clucas and I re shared it on my story. It got me thinking, I am actually starting to like our players again. Of the current starting 11 at least from Saturday I can say I like all of them barring Chester & Tommy smith.
Add to that I like Powell, Clucas, Allen, Ryan and maybe even some others I’ve forgotten it’s a far cry from the past 2 seasons where barring some players such as crouch, shawcross & Allen who remained favourable for nostalgic reasons mostly it’s been hard to feel any sort of affiliation / good will towards any of them. I’m sure O’Neil is a lot to do with it but weirdly I think the younger players have bought the team together, the younger lads seem to be really good friends and have a decent rapport and joke around on social media etc this whole ‘love it YOU’ etc.
Long may it continue, I probably haven’t liked a bulk of the squad since Mid Hughes era.

I can only guage this from the few interviews and his manner on the pitch but Mikel seems to have a lot more character than I thought he would. He doesn't seem too serious which I like.

Mikel definitely seems popular with the younger players on Instagram as well, I actually think you can gauge a fair amount from social media about the mood of the dressing room. I also guess the more games we play and don't lose (6 now including the cup I think) the players will just become naturally more confident/arrogant which we will continue to see on the pitch. When you look at the team at the moment - in your view who are the leaders / those commanding the most respect?

I definitely Mikel does and as you say you can tell he's well liked by the younger players. From what I can see there seems to be a genuine respect around all of them tbh. I think Collins and Souttar play like experinced pros with their leadership, Chester is said to be good at it, tbh I just think they all take ownership of it and that in itself is leadership. Before they could get away with it.
