BBC deem it necessary to comment on the allegations of drugs and prostitutes rather than the fact he was a great sports presenter. They’ve got some nerve

Odd how his career was in ruins just for enjoying a few lashes from a dominatrix... If it was now, he’d probably end up with an MBE.
Sad news.
RIP Frank.

A superb and versatile broadcaster covering sport, current affairs and travel. And we should not forget how he popularised the wooly jumper and cardigan in a way no Stokie did before or since! RIP Frank - you were an important part of my life as I entered adulthood.

The first great sport presenter i remember. I watched grandstand at times from the very early 70s so much better than ITV Dickie Davis show.
Frank style and voice was just right. He went to other types of shows nationwide and Holiday ones and always a natural and brought guest to feel at easy and the old fashioned let the guest speak and guide them along. How modern day host/presenters could learn form him.
R.I.P Mr Bough condolences to his family.

World of Sport was worth an occasional dip into for the slightly more left-field sports Grandstand wouldn't show: Evil Knievel stuff, american football, the wrestling etc. The ITV Seven always used to get in the way of the real sport on World of Sport, it was a pain in the arse for anyone without a gambling problem!

The autocross with the escorts /minis around 2pm kept me hooked. Never a lover of american sports though Evil Knievil was entertaining. Listened to a couple of short radio homages to Frank and great level headed feedback and how great a presenter and help he was.

Bough's career was completely ruined by coke and prostitutes, few years later Richard Bacon gets busted and sacked but resumes his career, few years later Angus Deayton gets busted for doing pretty much the same and aside from the fuss at the time around losing the HIGNFY gig it didn't really affect him that much. Still working. Few more years later and even politicians with coke habits don't seem to have much impediment to being part of the current Cabinet!
