If you filled in the petition to Parliament about fans returning to grounds, you will have received a questionnaire from the Parliamentary petitions committee about some issues in football other than fans returning to grounds, some of which are very important. This was an unexpected development but is nevertheless an opportunity for us. In fact it seems I can provide a link even if you didn't sign the petition www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/CYLH7W/It doesn't take very long to fill in. The questions about why are football clubs important, and who should provide support in the current crisis are of course important issues. However the REALLY important one at the moment is Question 7 - whether the Governments promised fan-led review of football governance should be held soon or wait until after the Covid crisis. It is essential that it doesn't wait until after the Covid crisis - the more so after the Project Big Picture revelations etc. Even if you don't have time answer the rest but could answer that one, it would help. Thanks.

Done but the question to where should struggling clubs get the money from should have more than one answer. Premier League AND central government would be my ideal answer. In fact the government could stick a solidarity tax on the Premier League and then distribute this back into the game where its most needed. Taking money from where it’s least needed and generally wasted and giving it to where it’s most needed.
Football isn’t like any other industry where firms try and wipe out their competitors. If you do that in sport there is no sport!

Done but it's a shame the first question regarding season tickets didn't reflèct the fact they were not on sale because of Covid.

Did this when I received the email last week.
The question about whether the debate/discussion for a fan led review should happen now or after Covid did stick out like a sore thumb for me. It most definitely does need to happen now, along with a review of fans coming back to stadia too.

Poorly written, leading questioned survey, a child could pick that apart. Won't make a difference in parliament.

BM I agree and I seemed to be able to tick Premier but also put in the other please specify box that government should provide the same support that they do for the arts. Not sure if it would stay in the box on the completed survey though.

Poorly written, leading questioned survey, a child could pick that apart. Won't make a difference in parliament. I agree that the survey questions were poorly chosen and worded. But I don't agree that it will make little difference in Parliament. First, Parliament (in the sense of MPs of all parties) does seem keen to sort out the governance of football. Second, the current government has had a bad year so far and Boris and his pals could do with a few initiatives where they can be seen to be on the side of the public rather than at odds with them. For this reason an early start to a comprehensive enquiry into football governance - and funding of the lower leagues - makes perfect sense. Having said all that, it would not surprise me if Boris shoots himself in the foot and puts Dominic Cummings in charge!

Poorly written, leading questioned survey, a child could pick that apart. Won't make a difference in parliament. The very fact that it has been sent out at all by Parliament is unusual and interesting and suggests that your negative conclusion may be far too pessimistic. We have to take every opportunity we get. The main agenda is to press for the fan-led review which is mentioned in Q7 to start sap
