Brown seems to be getting a bit of a free pass, not sure what he’s done since he’s arrived but for me he’s been seriously underwhelming Why we can’t start with a fairly consistent 11 is beyond me, they’re supposedly supremely fit elite athletes I’ve seen lads on the dojo move faster than Vokes, probably win more headers to!!!! Dojo? I assume you mean Dohyo. I get what your saying about the 'players need resting' rubbish though. The only possible excuse is that football has a contact element to it as a game

Oh well that's my modest optimism blown out of the water for a Tuesday, there's GOT to be a response on Saturday just to prove a point surely.

Not enough quality to rotate in 2 games per week. If he's going to rotate we have to play 4-1-4-1. Cant play 343 with this squad 2nd string. Hope Davies is fit Saturday 🤞 100% correct - quality is simply not there Good technique and teamwork can overcome a lack of quality. We were nowhere near and changing the team and system so frequently is not going to help us develop that basic team strength. Mon needs to make up his mind how he wants us to develop.

Bunch of wankers, biggest one is O'Neill. Yeah he’s a real piece of work is O’Neill..... Swansea 'powerplays' didn't really upset my constitution much. Strange 1st goal but looks like Davies got injured in the process. Pretty tame tonight though. I expected us to 'spark' in the last 20 mins but it just didn't happen. Hope to see a strong, winning reaction deliver 3 pts on Saturday.

We have physios, ice baths, masseurs, nutritionists and there's fuck all nightclubs and bars open right now.
Why the fuck a honed athlete can't play 90mins every 72/96hrs is beyond me.
Man up MON...

Glad I did not spend £10 to watch that. Seen it elsewhere for nothing, instead of that crap official stream The official streams are fine, what it shows however can often be substandard.

Theres some ready to slit their wrists or vote to re-instate the death penalty on here. Arf, arf. Rather a muffled phart performance though!

A very poor display and a very poor team selection. MON has a bit of brainfade and it invariably results in a loss.
Vokes is totally the wrong striker for this type of game, we are not going to have people running off him with that setup and he cannot hold the ball up effectively. Gregory is not a long term solution, nor even what I’d term a good alternative but he was best suited for that formation and approach if you are resting Fletcher and Campbell. He makes decent runs, has better hold up and has a bit of intelligence about his play, and his finishing is no worse than Vokes based on their respective xG last season. (Sorry to those offended but this is what xG is for!). Gregory can also press the ball a bit rather than us clearing it and Swansea just allowed to surge forward again.
Playing 4 games in 10 days is going to be tough, and I have no doubt we needed to rest players. Soft tissue damage and whatnot builds up no matter how fit or conditioned you are, especially more so in this condensed season.
I think tonight shows us a couple of things, our squad is very thin on quality outside 8 or so players and because of that, we probably don’t have enough for a sustained promotion charge this year. We are far from a finished article, but on a more positive note it is better to be disappointed to be beaten by a team now in second than going down to a equally shit Huddersfield side. We’ve changed a lot in a year, let’s see where we are in another 12 months based on thus trajectory.

The money spent (wasted) on Vokes is a travesty
ONeill is stuck with the likes of him and lee Gregory but it concerns me to see his own signings (Chester, Fox, Brown, Oakley-Booth) look so poor too
It’s still early days but he has to ditch this bullshit approach to matches with players like Vokes et al as it clearly is technically far,too difficult for them to function in.

He looks a yard offside for their second. Not that it really matters 🤷🏻♂️

I have too say that my jaw dropped when I heard the team before the match. After a long time in charge now surely MON must have seen that Chester and Vokes have not done enough to warrant inclusion in the starting eleven I have tried but I am unable to come up with a reason why they keep being selected. After a good performance on Saturday and raising fan's expectations for this game I am convinced, as this forum suggests that there are many disillusioned and angry Stoke supporters tonight.

Souttar has had a tough night against Ayew and Lowe. He has been rolled several times. Not exactly easy playing with two donkeys each side of him and two useless wing-backs.

It looked like we came out hoping for a point. When you do that, it’s most you can expect. We just don’t have enough decent players to rotate through the starting line-up. A couple more injuries and we are in deep trouble.

We had the chance to go 2nd.tonight,but MON bottled it big time.
I really don't understand him, when he picks an attacking side we usually do well and score a lot of goals, so why he runs scared against teams who are no better than we are, baffles me.

he's had 11 months and no money to spend and he's had to dump some players he might have wished to keep. It's obvious he has to go. just thank him for keeping us in the Championship and say goodbye.

It looks like we're going to be playing 3 games every 7 days until Christmas. But that's no bother to our Super Players who couldn't get results when we were playing once a week. MON is not infallible but I think he knows a bit more than you do about football.

You’d rather see us lose 0-6 by playing attacking football, really? Yes, I’d rather see us actually having a go. You’d be the kind of manager that Arsene Wenger use to patronise after thumping them 5-0 for “trying to play the game the right way” O’Neill set up last night to win the game in the same manner that we set up in some of our other victories on the road this season. The truth is Swansea were quicker out the blocks, sharper in all areas and generally better. We weren’t at the races, it happens unfortunately.....

We were walking about with no intent on attacking. It wasn’t unfortunate it was cowardly.

Thats the way he used to play us ( Northern Ireland ) at times. Just put his mind on a draw, no attack worth talking about. Apart from that, can we borrow him for the European play off final 😁
