Ince not being on the bench either is poor. He did well when he came on against Barnsley.

Not a bad look to the side though I’m a big fan of Powell. Bit more pace today with Brown coming in and McClean should give us some energy. They’re a good side. Any result would be decent. That's a depressing line right there 😁 Bloody Brentford! I know they've had a decent couple of years, but I hate the thought of hoping we can get any sort of result against a side I can honestly say I have never heard of any of their players.

How come Collins is not suspended after Wednesday's sending off?

Mikel and Thompson need to get on the ball more if we’re going to link the play. Better movement needed from both of them in this formation. I agree about Thompson and Mikel needing to get the ball more - early season the defenders bypassed the midfield too much - and the back 3 are all decent passers so no reason why that shouldn't happen. However the movement needs to come from the wingbacks and the forwards - if the sitting back 2 start going AWOL massive gaps will appear in the middle and the back 3 will get picked off. The sitting midfields need to be disciplined and hold their position - which to be honest is what Thompson and Mikel are good at.

Ivan Toney is someone I wish we had signed a few seasons ago & will concern me today As for the other chap hope its not a case of "Waiting for Ghoddos" He causes real problems in the six yard boxe and love to run in from behind between the CB's. We'll see how we deal with him today.

A line up devoid of creativity. Might get away with it as Brentford will push on but for me a very underwhelming team selection. The baffling persistence with Chester goes on. Bloody depressing team IMO.

Ba’ath must have pissed in MON’s whiskey bottle. I don’t get it. I understand dropping Tymon because he was poor against Barnsley and McLean will give us more urgency but he’s no defender.

I think the fact that JMc and JB prefer to be in the opposition half will help us push up a bit.

Imagine Tymon and Powell were mainly dropped because they are tired. Tymon has never really had a dull campaign and Powell needs to be wrapped in cotton wool.

Thompson very lucky to be starting. MON singled him out for praise on Wednesday.... mmmmmm...! I think he likes him

I’d like to see Campbell and Brown stay up the pitch when we’re defending set pieces. Won’t happen of course but.....

Well the front 3 actual matches a '3-4-3 front 3' with the target man in the middle and 2 pacy players on either side. James has the attacking attributes of a wing back (but never protects the defense), and the back 3 is now settled. Brentford probably going to press the flanks especially our left (Collins, Jimmy). I think this is going to have goals in it and could go either way with that team - Massive loss, or nick the game 3-2. Looks like the formation is here to stay then.

We have a problem at the moment in that with weekend/midweek/weekend/midweek being the norm currently even if MON wanted to change formation it would give next to no training time for a different system.

Only complaint is Chester really. I think we'll get chances on the break, just hope we can defend better than we did on Wednesday.

Powell carrying a niggle, Tymon ready for a breather. Can't fathom Chester! Quite like how we're set up for today otherwise. Hopefully GoAAAArn Stoke and not GroAAAAn Stoke today!

These are meant to be professional athletes. Injuries aside for what they get paid two games a week should not be a problem. H

They will have lots of success attacking our left flank and firing in crosses from there for Toney. Brown will spend most of his time in our half helping out a woefully inadequate defensive McClean.

Ince not being on the bench either is poor. He did well when he came on against Barnsley. I agree with this. I liked the look of Ince when he came he really helped us to keep the ball up top effectively which we needed, and worked hard. I was hoping we would see him again today.

That would be my first choice front three and I'd like Souttar and Collins to be the regular back two , to form a Shawcross /Huth , Cranson / Overson partnership .....a bit of stability and we could get better it's a long season.
