Stone, Stafford or Newcastle... Which makes a complete mockery of regionalised restrictions.

Stone, Stafford or Newcastle... Which makes a complete mockery of regionalised restrictions. Except, of course, that you can't. The rules state "If you live in a high alert level area you also cannot meet indoors with people outside of the area, unless exceptions apply" Covid RulesI had booked a table in a restaurant last week to meet up with an old friend who lives in Wolverhampton. I live in a "Medium Risk" area, but because Wolverhampton is in a "High Risk" area we had to cancel. (He is a bit old to sit outside in this weather).

I've been meeting my old Mum and Dad (who live in Stafford) outdoors in the gardens when I can get down - was last there two weeks ago, beautiful sunny Sunday, just had to book the tickets in advance. We ate outdoors on the terrace at the cafe in the gardens, which was fine.

burslem park is nice on a sunny day - small but excellently laid out. the lake has ducks to feed (thumbs up) and there’s an aviary.
if you want, you can make a day of it and walk around burslem town centre.

You can have a drink/food outside on the terrace at Tittesworth they've moved to waitress service now so they'll come out and take an order. The Lazy Trout have a small marquee in the garden now with around 4 covered tables.

Stone, Stafford or Newcastle... Which makes a complete mockery of regionalised restrictions. You have to behave under the same restrictions that are set out in your own area.

Just a thought but if the weather's good the Boatcake I believe is moored at Westport Lake with tables and chairs alongside on the grass. Pleasnt walk around Westport Lake and on the canal as well. Not sure if the visitor centre cafe is open but there's a large outdoor terrace there.

Have a look at The Ramblers Retreat at Dimmingsdale. Large garden area with all seating under cover with superb walks in the area although it may be a bit muddy on some of the paths.
