Looked a solid again, get them signed up on longer deals. They could be our future for a long time to come.

Collins is already on a long contract, not sure about Souttar.

Thought Collins was quite shaky to be honest I agree. First half his distribution was poor. But still better then Chester.

Thought Collins was quite shaky to be honest First 20 minutes, after that he was fine. I’m surprised that the most experienced defender didn’t play on the left given that all 3 centre backs are predominantly right footed- but I reckon Batth would have got roasted having to play on the left.

The only worry for me is that if they continue in the side and perform well that Teflon Tone will sell them for a bag of mini eggs in January to the first team that comes knocking.

Better opposition would of got something Surprisingly all the shit opposition we played last year had no problems scoring against a defense of Chester Batth and Bruno Martins Indi. We go to a team who’s last home defeat was in February, who were 5th in the league and had lost 1 of their last 13 games - we keep a clean sheet and you manage to moan about two potentially excellent youngsters. Targeting them clearly worked didn’t it?

Two fantastic young players at this level, who like someone said, could probably do with an older head at the back as well.
I thought Batth played that role very well today.

Thought Bahht was the shakiest of the three until the end when it became the backs to the wall game he loves.

Collins performance was all the more impressive because he started the game so poorly.
Shows both the character and ability of the lad.

He's got huge potential

I love the pair of them. They play with no fear and aren’t afraid of getting dirty. Collins started a bit shaky, however grew into it and was simply superb. Big Harry slabhead is just a joy to watch. Typical no nonsense defender that loves to defend. It’s like having a young Huthy back there

Defensively sound against an experienced albeit limited attack.

I don't think either like to be in the sides of a three at the back, but both looked solid. Collins misplaced a few passes but was solid, needs a run of games.
These two are the future for us, another clean sheet. Really impressed with both of them

Not sure what Souttar's got left on his contract, but maybe it needs reviewing.... Won't be long before teams start sitting up and taking notice, if they aren't already!!!

Chester got dropped rightly for being poor in the air.
Now we seem to win everything with those 3 at the back.
Very solid back 3 if you ask me. Maybe questions against some pacy forwards but this looks the future

Bobby Moore, John Terry, Tony Adams were not blessed with pace, one was world class and the other two didn’t get done too often. If you can read a game, the gaining of experience will help compensate for some lack of pace.

I agree. First half his distribution was poor. But still better then Chester. Playing him on the left side probably didn't help with his passing. Without trying to sound all Bayern, it shouldn’t matter THAT much should he? He also needs to learn how to play on the left side and quickly as that’s the team I’d like to play moving forward. Might be a slightly off day, but just calling it how I see it.

Of course it matters. Centre backs have a favoured side, always have done and probably always will. It will have been quite alien for him. I thought it was ridiculous to play him there and Souttar on the right tbh. Collins was awful first half but then good second half. I put that down to getting used to it.
