Just listening to the radio and a song by Huey Lewis and the News came on. I immediately lunged for the remote as I can’t listen to one second of any of their songs. So which music artists really irritate people and why?

Status Quo - can't get to the radio quick enough to put something/anything (anything at all) else on, doesn't matter which song, they're all pretty much the same apart from the Army one.

Anything Rap I absolutely detest............Noise made by anybody who hasn’t got a musical note in their head and can’t sing. How it can remotely be described as music beggars belief imo. Oh yes and Oasis. Both have me reaching for the ON/OFF switch.

Think it's the traditional practice of annoying the parents/authorities. Best response is to tell Da Kidz how much you enjoy it, like my Dad used to do with Slade.

George Ezra, all his songs sound the same.
Ava Max (I think that's her name?), the one who sung something about a psycho, last year. Dreadful record.
Big Room House/EDM. It's not house, it's shite music for boy racers. Can't believe this is the crap Tiesto, Armin van Buuren and Guetta make these days.

I like Status Quo, and you must admit they can get a crowd rockin': "Whatever you want, tra la, la la..... Whatever you like, tra la, la la..... Whatever you say You pay your money You take your choice, tra la, la la..... "See -- -- now I've fed that intoxicating little snippet into your subconscious you'll be singing it all day. RESULT.

Oh yes and Oasis. Both have me reaching for the ON/OFF switch. I quite like some rap but over the last few years a lot sounds like they’ve recorded it whilst drunk. It doesn’t seem to matter which artist, there’s just this constant slur. This mainly seems to be American artists but British artists lead me to my next point..... I hate the affected accents people use. The weird London gang slang has crept in over recent years. It’s like listening to arsenal fan TV. The two things above have led to me having NEVER listened to radio 1 for a number of years. It seems totally dominated by rap, garage, grime or whatever other terms for this shit there are.

Quo fans must have saved a fortune in the past in comparison to fans of other bands, no need to bother buying any albums, just buy the single and play it repeatedly for exactly the same experience

How can I explain this one?🤔 Classic songs that are covered by dreary, whiny suicidal sounding singers (usually ladies). First one that springs to mind is an advert for the Renault Clio with the two lesbians that grow up together featuring Wonderwall sang by as described above.

Pretty much all of the modern main stream stuff that relies heavily on auto tune. If you can't sing or hold a note YOU'RE IN THE WRONG FUCKING JOB! 😡

When travelling and the radio is on mainstream artist which make me turn it off/or auto retune Jamie Cullen, Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder. Genesis the Phil Collins version used to be the same but 30 odd years later i can just withstand it now. I never listen to radio 1 this century more Radio 2 and 6 now. Commercial radio no thanks.
Mentioned above - Paloma Faith hit and miss, Eva Max is a bad marina and the Diamonds rip off.

Aerosmith. Tyler's voice, 'nuff said. Queen. Over-played on the office radio--there are other songs than Bohemian Rhapsody. Heart. See Queen above--there are other songs than Magic Man. Billy Joel. Just never liked his music.

black lace
songs like ‘gang bang’ and ‘have a screw’ (agadoo) are utter filth.
becoming your own parody band is certainly not classy and truth be told ‘have a screw’ is just kinda depressing compared to the original ‘agadoo’.
smutty songs! marking the point when the kid’s party circuit obviously wasn’t bringing in enough dough, so they reached out to the raincoated degenerates.
should be banned (angry face)

I was at sea when it came out and we used to get videos sent out by the BFBS, one had the Top of the Pops programme on where it was number 1 and most of us on the ship were convinced it was some sort of elaborate wind up. Sadly it wasn't.
