I've just clicked on the BBC news page and every single story is on the USA. Someone needs to have a word

Our press do seem a little obsessed. If feels like they’re part of the British Isles at the moment and that our issues, politicians, police are the same as theirs.
Thankfully we’re a whole lot different in so many ways. We’re a very much more tolerant and safer society despite recent increases in crime. I dread to think what we’d be like if we had the same gun laws and all our officers were armed.
For all our faults I still think we’re one of the best places in the world to live though it doesn’t feel like we’re a happy country at the moment hopefully one day we’ll get our mojo back.

It was the same when that Supreme Justice died.
What is it to do with us?

To be fair pretty much the entire western world (and lots of other places) are.

It's bullshit. We had a British Police officer murdered in a British Police station last week, yet the first two stories on the BBC news that evening were about US politics.
The BBC really need defunding.

American news channels based solely on 1 stop over at an airport seem to be loads of graphics flying across the screen, stock prices, headlines etc and then 3 people in a studi shouting at each other..it gave me a headache.
The world news also gives no info on the world as I saw and was nationwide news not the regional stuff

The bbc provide a large content on news al over the world which is always more than most countries provide on other nations. The US elections are big world wide news which is important to us as a nation especially with the trade deals required post brexit. The news about the coppers death was tragic and I agree bumped down very quickly but I probably on the website due to an algorithm as breaking news would always go above. Using the bbc news app I have the world and uk feeds where the coppers death stayed at the top on the UK and the political changes stayed at the top in the world feed.

Slightly diluting the theme I'd consider actually living in America there are some stunningly beautiful areas. I've always harboured a love of wood cabins around Lake Tahoe or Montana but I also love the desert around Henderson/Vegas but its too late im afraid and too expensive so I'll just keep dreaming.

I think people are mistaken when they make generalised comments on Americans or the USA.
I have found it to be massively diverse, not just from a multicultural and ethnic view, but in the character of the different states. USA is New York, California, Alaska, Texas, New Orleans, Hawaii, West Virginia, North Dakota and so on. How diverse can you get? I have only visited Ohio and West Virginia myself on business trips, but I am a massive Elvis and 50s rock'n'roll fan and well into that aspect of American culture, but there is a huge amount of other aspects of American culture and not just that portrayed by the media.

A sensible opinion Mr. Coke, but it's much much easier to simply hate us outright or at the very least look down upon us over here -- no doubt it will save you some grief in the long run.

I guess we all think opinion, as opposed to facts, is biased, and the direction of bias depends on your point of view. www.allsides.com/news-source/cnn-media-bias

^ The problem I have with all the news channels is it seems (to me) most of their programming is opinion based shows which somehow get confused as news. That's the bias. I don't see too much BBC over here, but what I've seen seems straight forward enough -- but it's BBC America which is something other than a genuine BBC newscast I'd guess.

We talk of defunding the BBC because the news dept has lost it's way but ironically you only have to look at the states to see what sort of fate awaits if we do. Their news is abysmal. Still NPR does actually have some passable content but it has much less reach than the BBC.
