So it's the pandemic an not an horrendous transfer policy which makes our various overpriced and overpaid lumps of lard unsaleable?! OK Tone. Never your fault is it? The snake oil salesman strikes again.

Nice one Tone you got me hook, line and sinker.

“You are not talking about a percentage reduction in their value… you are talking about a complete elimination of their value”
All aboard the Covid Express! The elimination of value is largely down to the fact we paid overinflated fees for wasters.

The 'always someone else's fault' rhetoric will see him fit in perfectly.

Hardly like clubs were falling over themselves for Wimmer, Bauer, N'diaye or Etebo's signatures BEFORE Covid was it... it was Almost touch and go whether we'd get rid of Butland!!!
It's looking like we're (at best) just going to have to loan them until their contracts run down!!! Nobody was ever going to be as puddled as us, paying astronomical fees and wages for (at best) mediocre players!!!

Tbf it probably isn't all his fault. Any attempt to deflect the accountability for 5 years of appalling commercial and transfer failure away from a process he has so stoutly defended and overseen is frankly despicable. .

One question. If he is as useless as you repeatedly say, why does Coates not sack him? I think the reason is Scholes did not agree with a lot of the ridiculous deals done under Hughes and Rowett but was tasked to make them happen. He is not a director of football, he is a glorified accountant and Coates' mouthpiece.

Fair enough accountant is pushing it but he is clearly not a director of football. The losses are due to falling off the premier League gravy train because our owners employed poor managers and allowed them to buy poor players for silly money. Don't get me wrong I don't like Scholes either but the route of the problem is the business model.

The pandemic has made it even more difficult than it would otherwise have been to offload the considerable mistakes of the transfer activity previous managers and player recruitment staff.

What an interesting perspective. I’ve never read you posting about this matter before 😴. Who was the CEO when we got promoted to the top tier after an absence of 23 years? When we stayed in the Premier League (despite your annual relegation predictions) for a decade, getting to FA Cup finals and playing in Europe? Who was the CEO who got the club into the position to waste “£150m of investment” in the first place? You hammer the bloke on here all the time. HE WILL NEVER READ WHAT YOU POST, and even if he does, will never respond. You are wasting your time peddling this boring monotonous crap constantly on this message board. If you are so incensed by Tony Scholes, instead of anonymously posting on a fans forum , why don’t you write him a strongly worded email, or arrange a one to one meeting expressing your concerns?

The CEO cannot keep himself in a job if the owners, who are not exactly inexperienced in such matters, decided that he isn't performing at the required level. We wouldn't want a CEO who is not qualified to do so taking football decisions i.e which players to sign and how much they are worth, and I don't think there is evidence that he has done so.

Surely everyone is sick of this topic. We're stuck with a group of overpaid players that we can't get rid of. we'll just have to run down their contracts until we can write them off. We're certainly not going to recover any money for them. If we could loan them out, paying all their wages it might give us a chance to save some money later. If the club they're loaned to agree to accept them on a free transfer and take over their wages for the remainder of their contract with us. We would then be saving on wages and might be able to write off their remaining value without infringing FFP.

He wouldn't continue to be employed by any other club in world football, Malcolm. I thought this was a telling tweet from Pete Smith the other day. We are an organisation that has been in chronic decline for years. Its frankly staggering that there hasn't been any executive level accountability for it.
