Well deserved both of them. Davies best game I think.

The sound affects are awful. Sounds like a 90's arcade. It's 'effects' you picky get.

From free transfer to decent sale if we can get one will be good for FFP. Although would hate to see us loose him.

Would you take £8M + Gayle on loan for the rest of the season?

He's only 26? Thought he was 29 pushing 30.
I'd rather raise funds through selling Collins to Burnley than Powell to Newcastle.

Flogging Powell is not an option. It shouldn’t even be entertained.

The perception does seem to be that he's, more than the average player, attached to living in Cheshire - and that held sway when he was considering what to do when he left Wigan.
If there was interest (this isn't a great source but he does seem the kind of domestic player Bruce would feasibly be interested in), no doubt he would be attracted to the Prem, even though Newcastle continue to be a car crash, but would someone perceived to be a homebird really push for it?
No idea about what kind of fee we could look for. 18 months left on his deal, right at his peak age.

If they take Ince as well then it's a deal.
We have FPP to consider and the play offs are getting too out of reach.

We've got to look to sell if the right offer comes in. He's a talented lad and for me, the best we have.
However, MON is so wedded to his 433 going forwards that he is pretty much useless to us in all reality.
In a 433 he either plays as a grinder in the midfield three, a wide left player or a centre forward. He isn't really any of those. He is a number ten which the manager doesn't seem to want to play.
With FFP biting we need to use every last ounce out of what we have, and an expensive player out of position doesn't fit that equation sadly.

Gayle would be good but isn't the equivalent of what we used when we had Crouch and we'd bring him on and take every fucker that could cross off?
Just on a grander, shittier scale.

He's nowhere near as effective, but he still almost single handedly earned us a point at Rotherham with a goal, an assist and a pre-assist and he led the line pretty well on Friday night. If we had any other options, particularly ones who do offer us something comparable in a 4-3-3, we could consider it. But we don't, and we really don't have even a semi-reliable source of goals and chances without him until Campbell's back.

Am I imagining it, or did we swap to a 4231 at the back end of that game, with Powell playing off Fletcher with Clarke and McClean wide, when we turned on the after burners? I agree that Powell has made a damn good fist of being mucked about, but that is to his ultimate credit and certainly not the manager's.

We did, but Powell had already had a hand in two of the three by that point. There may come a time when the manager's chosen system is firing on all cylinders with round pegs everywhere, but until then we need to wrap Powell in cotton wool and hide him from any prying eyes higher up the food chain.

Funny how he’s played his best 2 games this season (the last 2) but has been ‘hung out to dry’, ‘mucked about’ and thrown under the bus by the manager?

I may well be wrong. It would be really disappointing to lose him, his form seems to have really picked up in the last few weeks. Him and Fletcher together could just give us enough to make the playoffs.
