Both sides didn’t take the knee for the first time on TV since BLM came into focus. A sign of things to come?

Has to happen at some point. I get the idea behind the protest but where does it stop. A few f1 drivers said the same thing and got criticised for it.

I didn't realise they did it but agree has to stop at some point. Yeah. They still do. Lewis made a big deal about it though saying they should be doing it etc but they were like we have done but why we still doing it. If you watch f1 you will see a few will stand while the rest kneel

I didn't realise they did it but agree has to stop at some point. Why does it have to stop? It’s not exactly like it’s hurting anyone? It doesn't HAVE to stop. But people shouldn't feel under pressure to do it, if they think they have personally done it for long enough

Why does it have to stop? It’s not exactly like it’s hurting anyone? It doesn't HAVE to stop. But people shouldn't feel under pressure to do it, if they think they have personally done it for long enough I think they need to stop it before crowds come back because I think there’ll be some major issues with fans having conflicting views over it which could cause arguments and potentially fights. It was noticeable in the Leeds v Liverpool game that they kicked off then when a small number kneeled they stopped. I think it’s time to allow players to make their own minds up and maybe do it in warmup rather than at kickoff if they want to. Their needs to be a choice.

I think the ideas that ‘it’s gone on long enough’, ‘has to stop at some point’, ‘personally feel they’ve taken the knee for a warranted time’ etc would be the sentiments for the counter argument as to why it should carry on. Nothing has changed for the movement, issues are still there and there is still so much more to be done.
In a microcosm view to clapping for nhs heroes hasn’t improved their pay or added investment into a service, that 50p we put into a charity box doesn’t home someone from the streets and wearing a pink ribbon doesn’t cure someone. They are little gestures that we do to make ourselves feel a little better and that we have contributed in some way but never does is redress or alter the status quo.
Noticed on MotD and dPlay commentary at the weekend not one word was said, visual shown of the gesture for a few seconds and that was it - seemed an orchestrated instruction to not comment on it, haven’t read or seen about this but be interesting to know the notions behind it.

It'll probably be labelled as racist to stand whilst others kneel, just like theres angst against those for not wearing masks or wearing them half arsed during the covid pandemic.
A sad sign of the times where the population of the world has become so fractured.
However back in the real world thats s great result for Coventry.

They’ve got some talented young players too. Can already see QPR in the relegation zone after losing Eze🤔
