If he is going 3 at the back, then I think he’ll go:
Davies; Souttar, Collins, BMI; Smith, Clucas, Mikel, Tymon, McClean; Fletcher, Brown
The formation will be interesting though because the use of 3 at the back has been justified because it makes us harder to beat away from home and against tougher teams.

This, and it's a pretty easy decision. Dropping those who played in a good away draw in the league would send out the wrong message.

I'm hopeful Fletcher will start. We look a much better team with him on

Maybe
Davies Smith/Edwards Batth Chester Fox Mikel Campbell Clucas Powell McClean Fletcher
Subs: Brown, Tymon, Gregory/Vokes
Tricky as there's a lot of good options in the squad atm!

MON strongly suggested Fletcher is ready to start now - and looks like he's going to be the main man up front. At whose expense, who knows?
Have any of the youngsters pushed enough to get in this weekend? Doubtful. I think he'll go with the same team as Millwall with Fletcher the only likely change
Where Brown features long-term if we're largely sticking with the back 3 will be interesting though. Has he done enough to displace Campbell to be seen as a front-line option to start up front?
And no idea which of the 3 options at LWB is in pole position now.

I think the same back 3 as played v Millwall
The only change I can see is Fletcher in for Vokes. Small possibility that Brown could play for Campbell

Will he play a back 3 at home? He hinted in 1 or 2 interviews that he wanted 2 systems that he could switch between games or even within games.
Having said that I think he might start with a back 3 and possibly swap to 4.3.3 or 4.2.3.1 if we need to chase the game. I think the personnel will be pretty much the Millwall team with the exception of Fletcher. The youngsters should have earned at least a place on the bench.

He's not going to drop Nick Powell period. If he was injured or had played badly over several weeks, then maybe he might be rested, but Powell is the key player, and O'Neill knows that. It's more likely Clucas who might have a capable understudy in Tymon, but Clucas is still automatic choice for the foreseeable choice. The same applies for McClean. I'll be disappointed if Campbell gets dropped after just one game, but as O'Neill blows hot and cold over Ty, it could happen. I'd love for Collins and Souttar to come straight in, but O'Neill will feel Chester and Batth have stood well for us in the last five league games, so he will keep faith with them, but they can't afford to make as many mistakes as they have hitherto, if they do they could easily be replaced.

After starting BMI yesterday I really thought MON would play 4 at the back on Sunday? I actually thought he would pick a line up like this:
..................Davies.................. Smith........Batth......Chester.......Fox ...................Mikel................... ........Powell.............Clucas.......... Campbell........Fletcher............Brown/McClean/Tymon (one of the 3)

After last night it's clear there is keen competition for places and I don't think anyone is undroppable. Vokes and Campbell were shown up by Fetcher and Brown last week and they both looked very sharp last night so I can see a change upfront and Powell has had a poor start to the season. Powell on his day is a match winner but I wouldn't be surprised to see him benched for Oakley Booth if he has another poor game on Sunday. The defence have credit in the bank so I think you are right in that they look difficult to shift at the moment - but that is because they have earned their place, not because they are undroppable.

As excellent as last night was, I think we need to manage expectations and not get too carried away. I think there will be minimal change on Saturday, although I don’t like the combo of Bruno and Fox on the left going forward. Tymon seems made for the left wing back role but it’s a case of easing him in. Fletcher looks like the class player he is but won’t necessarily last 90 minutes so game strategy becomes even more important. We have options and we’re going to use them. It’s a really long season so everyone will get their chance. Let’s not rush to make sweeping changes.

Against Bristol City similar side to those who played at Millwall.
The side for Gillingham in mid week will be similar to those who played against Wolves.
Between now and Christmas apart from international breaks we could be playing every 4 days or so. We need to manage players fitness levels. We can not expect Mikel or Fletcher to be playing 40+ games a season.

I think there will be very few changes from the starting 11 v Millwall, unless MON changes system
Fletcher could come in for Vokes and there is a question over whether BMI can manage 3 games in 8 days. Maybe go 4 at the back? This would allow for Brown to start perhaps.
We shall see

Possibly Brown instead of Campbell. Brown for Campbell has some sense to it but I wouldn’t yet........ Brown will push for Campbell's place and that can only be good but to drop Campbell at this time would or could cause an unnecessary issue. Campbell firing and Brown wanting his position and coming off the bench for me is perfect at this time. Fletcher being the perfect partner for either with Vokes late on if required?

It's unbelievable how we have gone from a horrible hated squad to having a healthy choice of capable players to choose from. Thanks mainly to upsurge of quality youth and a manager who seems to notice and act on the quality available.

I'd like to see 4231, but I think he'll stick with 352, with the only change being Fletcher starting for Vokes. That Bruno/Fox left side is a bit uninspiring going forward, but I think he'll hope for inspiration, creativity and goals from the front two supported by Powell and Clucas, with a probable sub showing for Brown again.
