Coffee makes me really angry and on edge 😂 I worked in an office once, bored shitless most of the time some so drank lots of filtered coffee, then I started getting a lot of chest pains in the evenings, thought I was starting to have problems with my heart! Once I linked the 2 and stopped drinking the coffee the chest pains went away. 1 cup of instant a day is all I have nowadays coffee wise. Unfortunately Im the other way round - if I dont drink enough coffee I get raging headaches. Awful feeling so Im off to the docs next Tuesday

I pretty much stopped completely.
I'll only drink on very rare occasions now, how did I do it? Mindset. It did nothing for me really just burned a hole in my pocket and gave me headaches.

I think really at some point you have to take stock of things and see if they satisfy the criteria: Does this add value or detract? I'd rather overpay my mortgage every month than spend time killing my brain cells, but it takes constant work and maintenance to do keep rigid.

I drive for a living so in the week was a no no , and also I couldn’t take it at weekends , like I said was bad all weekend , even as a young man it didn’t agree with me , I’ve never had a glass of wine in my life as all wine I tasted , tasted like vinegar , saying that my wife the Prosecco Princess makes up for the drinking I don’t do I also paid extra on the mortgage and finished it 7 years earlier , I don’t knock anyone who likes a beer etc , but it’s not for me , just need to get rid of my porn addiction now 😂😂😂😂

Havent had a drink now since April. Cant say i feel any different for it though. Not drinking hasn't really bothered me as im more a social drinker so its more of a gathering thing for me such as the footie or gigs, of which there hasnt been any. I imagine when some normality returns ill be a cheap night out as I'll be gone on 2 pints of bass.
A couple of things i am disappointed in though are; 1. Not using the opportunity to get a bit fitter/healthier 2. Replacing alcohol with snacks, thus the waistline is still evident.
I know there's only one person to blame for that so day 1 starts again for the umpteenth time 🙄🙄

Interesting dilemas for different people. My difficulty is that I have a strong interest in Ghosts, and also in History, and unfortunately some Pubs offer an excellent lead into both of these subject areas. Therefore I tend to go into old pubs with character, and like a couple of pints while I'm in there. If I can combine this focus with a canalside and a boat mooring then I'm as happy as a Sandboy!
Since lockdown, and its social isolation and reduced drinking, I've started to lose interest in the whole pub thing, and the various applied restrictions have even made my local less interesting and appealing than it was.

Day one of no booze today and right on cue I’ve had a text off my mate who I’ve not seen for ages asking if I’d like to go for a couple on Wednesday🙄. What would I do? The original plan was zero beer Monday to Friday and cut weekend consumption in half. Plan B was only drink when out and zero when at home no matter what day it was. Plan A or Plan B?🤔 Of course I could meet him and not drink but I think that’s out of the question😬

It also has the added advantage that you have permission to occasionally make it a bit flexible, as per Wednesday of this week and you going for a couple with the friend you haven't seen for ages - and who, for all anyone knows, and for a ton of reasons, might not be here after Wednesday, and think how gutted you'd be then. See - told you so above. Plus you've got enough on your plate at the mo to let life's straps out a bit now and then, which means you text him back right away and say 'OH YEAH'. Scrap Plan B immediately - it isn't a plan, it's a suicide mission. And let's call the last line of your post Plan C. Verdict: Not a snowball's chance in hell. Enjoy Wednesday!

If you explain the situation to them, I'm sure they'll understand. The liver needs a few days on the trot without alcohol to recover and repair itself so Mon - Fri without is better IMHO than '2 days off 1 day' on or whatever. Great effort for starting today though - I think you should post your progress so that we can all spy on you for motivation.

It must fight infection! Another reason to stay on it😏. Anyway very well done on the 9 days! Still torn about Wednesday😬. I’m edging towards saying no I think🤔

7 days off the booze today Apparently I’ve saved 4000 calories and £141 👀😂 Well done, Zerpsy. I've avoided spending c.£5,000-£6,000 pa since waving bye-bye to the Bensons. Probably also avoided a sootfall.

On a similar note. Anyone who’s given up fags how did you do I’m really struggling I used a nicorette inhalator, for a lot longer than the recommended time but I'm still alive somehow it was a bit like a dummy in the end, there was little to no nicotine in it most of the time. The doctors can apparently prescribe some good stuff, don't know if there's any side effects tho. The ex gave up using the Paul Mckenna hypnotherapy cd, you can get it on your phone now I'd have thought. A mate was a very heavy smoker, gave up using a vape, still uses it and has a few fags on a Sunday when he goes for a drink, his chest is much better for it but I doubt he'll ever quit totally. Lots of ways, I'd go with hypnotherapy on the phone cos it's easy, cheap and I'd feel like I've handed responsibility to someone else for a while

Day 9 off the ale and I feel like I’ve been dug up 👍 Some kind of cold / throat infection. Ffs 😂 You want to have a word with Leedsy, Zerp...... he does that for a living..... Here's what to do for a sore throat - IF you can take aspirin (not everybody can): Three soluble aspirin tablets completely dissolved in a small glass of cold water - take a swig, gargle with it, then swallow it. Repeat swig by swig until you've drunk all the water. Alternatively, warm water with honey & fresh lemon juice dissolved in it should also ease your throat. I'll look in on you again tomorrow......
