I don't agree with that, your technique is very important as it will reduce the number of chances you need to score. You may as well say it doesn't matter how bad the pass was as long as it reached the person you were passing to, it may have killed the attack but it went to the person it was supposed to so it's good.
The technique only matters if it leads to you missing the chances. If he taps them in or smashes them in is immaterial. The lad scored 4 goals in a match ffs give him some credit.
