Wasn't Hugo Boss a Nazi as well ?, no wonder the British public can not take to this knob head, the rules are clear he needs to be banned or fined heavily. He designed the uniforms for the ss storm stroopers True story Yes, like Mitsubishi made planes for the barbaric Japanese forces and Fiat vehicles for Mussolini's Italy. I can't do with Hamiltons constantly boring views - I doubt he even comes across many black folk where he lives, but firms won't have been able to turn down doing work for dictators during the war I wouldn't have thought.

Let’s not let historical facts get in the way of the BLM cause. Oh wait.......🤔 That’s right the BLM are all about the history but seem to conveniently forget anything that doesn’t suit their........ 🤔 Sorry I cant think of the right word at the moment!

Good for Lewis, perhaps if he got the support he deserves from the sport then he wouldn't have to take it into his own hands.
You really have to have issues if this bothers you.

Good for Lewis, perhaps if he got the support he deserves from the sport then he wouldn't have to take it into his own hands. You really have to have issues if this bothers you. I guess it depends on what your cause is. Maybe people should take up the cause of the 2 cops shot for no reason whatsoever. For every argument theirs a counter argument and all it does is cause more arguments as this board proves. Perhaps the way forward is to look for peace and a solution not cause more friction. Sport and politics don’t mix. For all the protesting there’s been has any of it actually achieved anything in the end result whether it’s the death of George Floyd (the cops still awaiting trial) or any other protest. It’s just caused division and it will continue to. It’s interesting that in the US and now the U.K. they’ve moved away from BLM and moved to “fight against racism.” Perhaps if they’d done this in the first place there’d have been a lot more support. I see Michael Holding is having a dig now at the cricketers for stopping kneeling. Good for Jofra Archer for defending the stance and saying there’s stuff still going on in relation to fighting racism behind the scenes. Maybe it’s time to not forget but to move on in a different direction. To still promote the cause but do some positive work in resolving the issues rather than the same old protests. I noticed in the Leeds V Liverpooo game almost everyone started playing after kicking off for about 5 secs. Doesn’t that say a message about the players wanting to move on (without forgetting the issues still there). Time for a change not just with fighting racism but the way it’s been done re protesting. Like most things if you do the same thing week in week out it loses its impact.

While I’ll not a fan of Hamilton it never ceases to amaze me how quickly people get annoyed. It’s one mans opinion if you don’t like it just ignore it and pop the kettle on
And that goes for other issues such as Ashley’s banjos dance or from the other side of things rule Britannia. As I said on that thread at the times, that’s not my thing but people both young and increasingly old need to stop fucking crying about things they disagree with.
Snowflakes and gammons all around 😂

I get what you’re saying but it depends who you listen to I suppose. Personally I find disengagement with social media and media in general helps Most people regardless of thier views are reasonable people and I find too much stuff at the minute is just designed to piss people off over something pointless to generate clicks. Take Brexit as an example ( dangerous i know 😂) The media and social media particularly has more of less broken 33 million odd people into 2 groups Remain- hates everything about this country and wants to see it fail, that’s clearly untrue ( full disclosure I voted remain) Leave- bunch of racists who didn’t have the first clue what they voted for and probably did it because they didn’t like the foreign family down the road, again completely untrue most people I’ve met who voted leave are lovely people did so after careful consideration, even if I don’t agree with thier conclusions it doesn’t make them racist or bad people or whatever

I do find it difficult to keep my views to myself. I guess ultimately all I want is everyone to get on (impossible I know) and for the system to be fair for everyone and people to be judged on merit. Right now it feels a million miles away from that even though I’m pretty sure the majority want that. It just feels like there’s certain people for varying reasons that want to keep the divisions going. In the case of Hamilton I think it’s an ego thing. Rather than doing these gestures perhaps he wants to do something more constructive like Imran Khan or Didier Drogba who don’t go courting attention despite doing some amazing work.

I’m surprised it’s taken this long to appear on the Oatcake. It’s not “raising awareness” it’s just another celebrity jumping on a band wagon. He's awfully quiet about Mercedes Benz connections to The Nazi's before WW2... He is awfully quiet about the Royal family connections to the Nazi's before WW2,,,

I think what’s pissing everyone off, is anything that happens to a black person currently, seems to be deemed racist and not the other way around.
My brother in law is black, embarrassed by blm and the way black people are being portrayed as perpetual victims. He thinks this is the most tolerant time to be alive but people are ruining it.
Instead of creating equality this is all creating a bigger divide.
Of course, it’s all part of the new world orders plan of printing the usd to death. Taking as much profit as they can from the us stock market while everyone’s terribly offended. Bitcoin will be the new global reserve currency. And the queen is an alien.

Why did the ambulance crew that picked George Floyd up just assume he was dead? They didn’t even check. Anyway, I’m not getting involved.. I actually thought this too when first witnessed the external camera footage from the street, it seemed like they just bundled him on a stretcher & drove off. I've since seen the camera footage from within the back of the Ambulance & it clearly looks as though they literally did a fast retreat from the area & parked up a few streets away & set to work on trying to save his life. At one point there were 2x paramedics & one of the officers all working on Floyd in the rear of the Ambulance before 2x fire fighters (dual role paramedics) arrive & join in too. Certainly changed my opinion on this side of things & also the whole episode having witnessed the full body cam footage of various angles from start to finish. But as it goes against the clear media agenda its never been shown on news & other reporting outlets.

If I can I’d like to make a wider point about social progress here. We are as liberal a society as ever been in history. To illustrate this I’m going to use homosexuality. Being gay was only made legal in 1967 which in the grand scheme of things is a really short time ago. We’ve gone from that to near equality with heterosexual sexual couples ( in my opinion rightly so) the idea that society isn’t becoming more accepting overall is just plain wrong There is much less racism in society than there has ever been, for instance not too long ago people would say n**** in normal conversation most people wouldn’t dream of that now. I think one of the problems society in general has is that people my age ( I’m 24) expect everyone to move at the same pace they’re going with issues like BLM and LGBTQ rights and expecting people to move that quickly on social issues is just going to piss people off create a culture war and stop any progress from being made at all People move on stuff at different speeds and just because you’re 50 and call someone by the pronoun they don’t want doesn’t mean you’re a evil old bastard who wants to watch the world burn

Its a cause someone believes in, that's fine, it's not endangering anyone, if you don't believe in it yourself, ok, but why is it causing anyone so much distress. If you want to score points on the Oatcake pointing to hypocrisies in the world, whether they be LH's or those of anyone you will spend most of the rest of your life on that one if that's what floats your boat. For what purpose though? Is that really going to change the world for the better?

Some good points made on this thread. I watched some of the NFL at the weekend and found it interesting the discussions on that between different networks.
On Sky (who I will say present their coverage of the sport excellently) they were discussing the protests and social injustice and all pundits were on board with the "narrative" slating anybody with a different viewpoint and that they need educating on the issues. One pundit mentioned systematic racism and violence by the police against black people in the US and UK??? Sky have already previously done a very minor apology after Mike Wedderburns BLM rant when he stated grossly incorrect numbers of black people that had died in police custody in the UK after millions had already watched the clip. So Sky presenters can make unsubstantiated claims of systematic racism without knowledge or back up, but it's people who dont agree with the narrative that have opinions based on fact and knowledge that need educating???
Their was a discussion on the BBC NFL show hosted by Chappers and I was amazed to listen to a fair and balanced discussion on the BBC. Osi Umenyiora who is a pundit and 2 x Superbowl winner, English born of Nigerian Heritage gave a very balanced viewpoint on why he could never take the knee. The clip is available online and well worth a watch of peoples different opinions and how teammates with different views on the issue can find a mutual way to show their stance and respecting each other. Was worth nothing Osi opening words were "I will probably be cancelled for saying this"
Much more discussion like this needs to be heard rather than what is usually a one way street peddled by the MSM of if you dont conform and agree your racist and uneducated. Massive strides have been made in sport and society against racism in my lifetime, but some of the BLM movement actions has caused divide where there was previously none.
And by the way Lewis Hamilton is a twat. That's an informed opinion and nothing to do with race.

It's not like we're averse to protests here- Brexit, Iraq war, environment, student fees, anti-capitalism/Occupy, fox hunting, countless far right/left gatherings etc. It's typical Britain- anything the Yanks do.... The last major widespread UK disorder pre-2020 I can think of that you could link to racial injustice were the riots/looting in 2011 that originally started with the Mark Duggan shooting in Tottenham. Again, that degenerated into criminals more bothered about getting a flat screen TV than any genuine outrage over Duggan. Duggan was found to have been in possession of a gun and was legally killed: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shooting_of_Mark_Duggan

This is how it should be. So nice to debate without being accused. I’ve always liked Chappers he’s an excellent presenter and always gives a very fair perspective. There was another NFL star who did an interview on TS yesterday called Benelick who gave a really good perspective re the Kapenick kneel. Spoke really well without any sweeping statements just told it from a genuine personal view. These guys in my opinion have a far better experience of a normal life being a black man in the modern world than the likes of Hamilton and Banjo who come from very privileged backgrounds. I like the direction the NFL is going in relation to allowing players to do what they feel comfortable with in respect to standing or kneeling. That’s the only way forward. Interesting that there was no fighting or arguing amongst the players but plenty of unity which is what most of us want. It’s all about compromise and not having a view shoved down your throat. This needs to happen in football too. We all have a different story and shouldn’t be judged for having different views. This works both ways. The one thing that will stop us from making progress is the continuation of people refusing to move on to a better world by going back and refusing to move forwards to make the right changes.

The point about progress is interesting, changes have taken place (though we started from a very dark place) I think if we really want progress then there is a need perhaps to look more at ourselves and consider how we can contribute to that positively rather than habitually pointing the fingers at others all of the time and going apeshit about what we consider are their misgivings. It's always tempting to feed our egos around what we consider are other people's faults and issues as a deflection from whats going on inside. It doesn't mean that injustices should not be addressed but this is a t-shirt we are talking about its not a bomb or an explosive.
