Now I’m no fan of the program in the last few years and if anything it should have been canned years ago but I see the BBC are up to their usual tricks and getting rid of Sue and the 2 captains🤔I wonder what/who will takeover🤔Alex Scott come on down🙄

Probably just want to freshen it up with some younger stars. I’m going with Crouch as a shoe in for captain and maybe Flintoff. Presenter will be a lady I imagine but no one comes to mind, perhaps the bird that presents that Peter Crouch thing.

Maya Jama? Could be.
Would they want to do it though? I'd imagine Flintoff has bigger fish to fry - it's not excellent high-level television is it.
[EDIT] - Actually, I was being kind. It's shit.

Used to like it as a kid but not seen an episodes for years. Like said earlier, one of the captains you'd imagine will be Crouch if he's offered it. No idea about the other 2 positions, I'll have a think and try and get in the mindset of a woke BBC show runner.

I have always enjoyed a QOS from the 70s to the present day. I watched every episode but nowadays try to watch it but miss a few. It has been great in its different formats and the present day captains and host have been very good and entertaining. I hope it carries on but it has had a good 50 year run. I still prefer it to the Sky's sillier embarrassing sports program with Corden. If QOS tries to go the new way and appeal to a much younger audience then please let it finish with Sue, Phil and Matt, and call the new show a different name. It may be on Dave or Yesterday TV in future

Kammy would make a good captain. Get Sam Quek as host and I might even watch a few. Matt Dawson tries too hard to be funny, but after he threw the pass to Jonny Wilkinson in 2003 I'll forgive him.
Did anyone watch that football quiz with Tim Vine on ITV? It was on about a year ago.

Tired program gets rid of tired presenters to replace with younger presenters
absolutely nothing new in this
If you were in charge would you A: can the program B: keep it a sit is with the same presenters C: make a slight tweak, maybe just replace the (awful imho) Sue Barker with someone who isn't less intellectually challenged than Cliff Richard or D: replace the lot with new people
A would be my choice but D seems to be the next most logical step from BBC point of view

I'm not too bothered that the current long standing trio are going, and I really couldn't stand Tufnell, but I wait to see who the Beeb are going to bring in as their replacements. I think they'll try and go too far appealing to a much younger audience and will probably lose their core viewers in the process.

Question of Sport was good when it was a sports quiz that could be funny sometimes, it turned to shit when it became a comedy show that happened to ask some sporting questions.
Top Gear suffered the same fate, it was great when it was a car show that could be funny sometimes, then turned to shit when it became a comedy show that happened to have cars in it.

And Bill Beaumont was captain for 14 years....Ally McCoist for 11 years...Emlyn Hughes for 8....David Coleman was host for 20.
The point is what exactly?
As Al has pointed out, the current lineup needed changing ages ago. Sue can't carry off the "giggly schoolgirl with a crush on a guest" act anymore at her age, and i don't think any of the British public can put up with anymore of the ridiculously cringeworthy Matt Dawson trying WAAAAY too fucking hard to act likes he's the "cool dad" every week.

What is?
"Quiz show that regularly changes it's captains, decide to change their captains shock exclusive!"
Are you completely unaware of the fact that Question of sport changing captains every few years has been done ever since it first started?
People are desperately intentionally looking for increasingly tedious links to things they can decide IS and MUST BE 100% because of "PC gone mad", purely so they can have something to moan about nowadays. You're right, THAT is definitely getting fucking crazy!!

Seems the overwhelming feeling is to just fuck it off and replace it with something decent. It’s a tired format with people attempting to be funny. Nothing wrong with a bit of banter but it’s such obviously engineered “banter” it’s just cringey

The point is “always” changing might suggest some degree of frequency, when, as you correctly point out, the line up remains very constant. It would be more accurate to say “The line up changes very occasionally...“

You quoted him out of nothing more than pure pedantry, so you could correct him on the frequency?
I would call you a sad fucker....but i actually quite admire that

I would call you a sad fucker....but i actually quite admire that Thank you. Actually there is a serious point here about the BBC - they should change things far more often. A vibrant, dynamic business is forever changing but the ultra conservative BBC seems alien to change which is why too much of their output is so tired. Whether that is a show like HIGNFY or presenters like the QoS bunch (not to mention Hyslop and Merton on HIGNFY; if Angus Deighton hadn’t been caught doing something naughty he’d still be presenting it). There’s loads more examples.
