Might watch it on catch up, although it sounds very depressing at the same time Its shocking, depressing, and eye opening. Makes me feel sick to my stomach and embarrassed to be a human. There will be fuck all left in 2 to 3 generations. Humanity deserves the covid pandemic when you watch the disgusting treatment of animals and plant life.

Saddening to think that the majority of the issues have been caused in the last 100 years. Industry, food production and greed have caused more damage in the last century than anything else.

Population growth is out of control. Our ability to consume everything, use everything without any thought of the true impact is beyond belief. Obviously, it can't go on for ever.

Who cares really?
While our global economic model is based on the never-ending pursuit of growth based on consumerist-capitalism, we'll be forever paying lip service to sustainability. See the call for everyone to drive back to town centre offices purely to hold up the economy, as a good example. We all know lockdown improved things massively environmentally but that doesn't work economically.
Plus people simply won't accept anything that makes their lives even the tiniest bit more inconvenient. I'd love to know how many people watching Extinction will subsequently change their lifestyle as a result, eg stop flying, switch to an EV, insist on green energy suppliers, etc.
In the end though, we're just one insignificant, if numerous, species which will probably go extinct as a result of our own stupidity. Sad for the people who have to live through that period, but for life on Earth in general, just another species that came and went, and on the grand scheme of things, no bad thing that we did disappear.
