Isn't it rather strange that a brother of a half million winner is picked for the show and just happens to have a load of questions given him that fall firmly right in the middle of his specialist knowledge, which would be known by the producers pre show? Good publicity certainly. Suspicious or what?

Not at all suspicious. Firstly there are many examples of family members appearing on quiz shows, even the famous coughing major. Secondly there are 6 possible contenders for the main quiz chair. Are you saying that the background knowledge of all contestants are researched and those question sets quickly selected? The bloke admitted that the questions fell into his lap as a teacher of politics, interest in history and geography. He wouldn’t say that if it was "fixed". I find the show intensely riveting and much prefer Jezza than Chris Tarrant as the host. If Tarrant disliked a contestant it was very obvious whereas Clarkeson allows contestants to grow into the game helping them to shrug of nerves with his humour.

I wasn't sure at first but he's growing into the role. Does anyone know why Tarrant was replaced- did he turn it down or were the producers after a change?

From Wiki; In 2018, ITV commissioned another series of Who Wants to be a Millionaire?, to be presented by new host Jeremy Clarkson. In a television interview, Tarrant stated he had chosen not to watch the revived series, saying, "I did it for 15 years, about 600 shows. I loved it – I had a fantastic time but I don't want to do any more, so good luck. It’s a great show." Tarrant said he would have "politely turned down" an offer by the network to return to the show had he been approached.

I much prefer Clarkson personally.
As for the guy that won a million, it seems a bit convenient that he was the last contestant on the last show, not that I think it was fixed, I don't, I just think that it was potentially filmed in a different order to the one that was shown.

I just thought that there were a few "coincidences" and I'm pretty sure people are checked before they get on the show as the risk of getting a load of dumbos would ruin it. I agree with your thoughts on Clarkson versus Tarrant. Clarkson has been very professional as the questioner.

I know him as I used to live in Chipping Norton. He wasn't very popular except with a small circle of friends and people used to leave the pub when he came in spouting his opinions! He had a nice Ferrari then.

The addition of 'Ask the Host' is excellent in my opinion.
It does frustrate me when they give an inkling in to what they think the answer might be before asking the audience or going 50/50 though. They should be more savvy to that and pretend they think it's something else because the 'random' answers the computer leaves are usually the ones they said it was between!

Oddly for the recent winner, they could have left Diwali or Hanukkah. Thankfully for the winner, they left Ramadan instead. It was one of the ones I was 100% sure on either.
