Yes but those who want to stay safe won't be going will they? I understand now These people who are going to go to he football A) Don't work B) Don't go to the shop C) Don't use public transport D) Don't have families More than likely these same naive and selfish individuals intend on going to the pub, generally take more risks and are far more likely to contract COVID and pass it on to people who are taking as many precautions as possible. Sounds fair..... The people doing these things are already following rules set out by the govenrment as to be safe so if football was to return it would be under guide lines set out by the government so everyone remains safe, if you don't want to go fair enough but don't lambast and ridicule those who do, like I said under the correct circumstances.

Now at 162k. I am delighted to see that Stoke City have re-tweeted it with the simple phrase "Football without fans is nothing" Thanks for the link. I've just signed it. We'll look back at this and realise it was a mass hysteria made out to be way worse than it really was.

If everone abides to the rules set out where is the risk? maybe the goverment should just furlough everyone into lock down till a vaccine is found then all risk is eliminated.

..... while the economy goes to absolute rat shit and mental health issues multiply ten fold, which jointly will kill many, many more people than any virus. Pretty straight forward. Ah so now we are just advocating to just get on with life. Jeez when it doesn't fit your own specific wants and needs there is a hell of a lot of complaining. We can easily stay in lockdown for 12 months Firstly, point me to where I said ‘just get on with life’. I didn’t. Secondly, “we can easily stay in lockdown for 12 months”... can we? Do you want to explain to all the people who lost their jobs after just a few months of lockdown, how they will pay their mortgages and feed their families when they can’t get work?

In the 7th tier of football here in Lancashire i see teams are getting crowds of up to 400, the season ticket sales almost doubled. Most teams are usually lucky to get crowds of 200.
Covid safe procedures are in place but small grounds only have capacity under 2,000. You see people standing close to each other in large bubbles? Away support ticket only are given their own area of the ground.
Clubhouse/bar and snack bars in operation. I think the clubs must be have a boom time income wise. Also no multi ball system.

Furlough for 12 months means tested. A national minimum income paid to everyone for a 12 month period. If people are not going out discretionary spend is limited. Covid is hastening the demise of a lot of zombie businesses that were on life support anyway. Retail etc. Mortgage holidays can also be mandated so I don't see this risk. An extra ten percent on income tax also woukd fund this. Everyone needs to tighten belts in this period. End of.

More of the same for the next 6 months, likely vaccine and the summer hopefully being the time we can open up. Seems a far more sensible plan than advocating what we are currently doing which is quite frankly an utterly ridiculous policy decision.

As much as I personally want to go back to football I don’t think there’s a hope in hell of it happening unfortunately until at least March /April.With cases going up and the likelihood of tighter restrictions soon it’s looking bleaker by the day
