How Gregory managed to hit the post and not score I'll never know.

How many times does BMI get caught underneath that long straight ball?
A consistent weakness in his game from the day he signed.

How Gregory managed to hit the post and not score I'll never know. I think we all know the answer to that. Why he's getting starts in pre season games is the real question.

Gregory plays really well at times Just his finishing is appalling However thought he was unlucky there

I don't care if it means fuck all, I love winning in pre-season because it sets the tone for the season.

Gregory plays really well at times Just his finishing is appalling However thought he was unlucky there To be honest, my heart sinks when I see him in a Stoke shirt. I know he's a trier and works as hard as he can for the team, but there is something profoundly depressing about the prospect of him being in the starting line up. Of course, as long as he is here I will always hope he will prove me wrong and make me sound like a whinging, grumpy old bastard. Nice to see some fluent play for the goal (see I can be cheerful!)

MON keeps banging on about playing with intensity and the team being ready from game 1 this season. From the highlights of the last 2 games they certainly looked up for it and had a right good go in both games and look fitter than in previous seasons and certainly are looking match ready - Might just be me not wearing me glasses but Chester looks like he has lost at least a stone from the last game also Slim Fast diet is obviously working - hope he can find some form/fitness for us. All promising stuff and Jack made some good saves also

The highlights from today’s game showed offensive and defensive play (when not in possession) as quick and tenacious. Perhaps I was watching at the wrong speed

Mikel’s positional play looks spot on.

Mismanagement on and off the pitch is the reason why we have had the last few years like this! I will never talk about current players like you have . I finally think we have a real manager and look forward to what the likes of Gregory can achieve under O Neil.

This game, or at least the highlights, reminded us how fast the game is played in the Prem. As for yelling at Gregory - and I thought he reacted pretty well to the chance, certainly he hit it hard enough - there were three or four of their shots that ought to have ended up in the back of the net. All in all, a good day’s work.

Match after match ... what are defenders doing these days? I think they need a crowd.

Love that touch from Clucas to take it past the Newcastle player and then infield to Powell.
Direct, quick football. What we’ve been missing for the past few years.

Come on march it was only a tin pot friendly against a no mark team. It was only a friendly but winning becomes a habit and we've managed to go through pre season as we finished last. That can only be a good thing. Dave I should of put a smiley face.

Fantastic goal. Some great hold up only by vokes as well. Excellent player at this level if we use him to his strengths. Premiership standard!
