Would love to see him in a club role. He would fail spectacularly just like he did at Boro.

The level of vitriol on this thread is pathetic. The guy took us to a semi-final with a team that was really not all that. He’s had a reasonable habit of selecting players that are young and playing those often in form. Again, he took England to the semi-finals. England, the average international team with the grand total of one world class player.

Right up where? I mean Arnold and Kane are amongst the worlds best in their position. Sterling, no way! He’s won a few premier leagues, FA cups, etc. Averages about 1 in 2 and isn’t an out and out striker. Plays every week for one of the best teams in Europe. A regular for England. At 25 he’s played over 250 top flight games. Yeah, he’s shite.

Why do people see that as a valid criterion? Do India and China win all the world cups? And look at Croatia players and look at ours. They're giants.

For me, the idea of World Class is a player who can get into any club team in the world. At the time, Kane was the only one in that lot who could have pushed to displace players like Lewandowski etc. Sterling is also starting to be effective enough to enter the conversation as well now.

With how easy that draw was a decent manager would have had us in our first World Cup Final since '66. I'm still mad we fluffed a golden chance

It’s so weird the way English fans love to batter our players. Fans of Spain, Italy, etc adore their team. We love to go round hammering them in the press / social media / etc. It’s weird.
