Apparently there used to be fishing in the pool at Moddershall. A great uncle of mine had fishing rights there, but it was a long time ago.

My old man used to fish at a pool near Cellarhead that was part of Johnson Bros and then Meakins fishing clubs. He has no idea who runs it now. Any ideas?

I didn't mean the one at Moddershall Oaks- if you turn right off Hilderstone level (coming away from meir heath), bear right instead of going through the 'oaks' there is a pond a little bit further on. I see people fishing it, but don't know what the craic is re being able to fish it

Dilhorne pools think they are still Fenton, not fished them for about five years though, great fun on pole but scale up the gear biggest I caught on pole there on the bottom lake was 18lb fully scaled mirror Carp 3m out under an overhanging bush, hemp and castor no ground bait, verified by a bailiff took ages to land on 12's elastic 2.5lb silstar line straight through was fishing for tench and crucians early April late on, avoid in school holidays though, parents dropping their little darlings off then fcuking off all day leaving them to run amok , Black Lake full of jacks, larger pike, perch some decent carp but very hard to fish full of snags.

This is going back a good while now but my grandad used to take me to Knypersley pool, as he called it. I've just looked it up and it seems quite extensive now.
