Quite simple. If BLM dont like the play list then they should watch a bit if Stormzy or Dave, and leave those of us who do like it to make our own choice. Just out of interest did you read the article or the headline?

Disclaimer- I’m what many would call a ‘woke’ (I hate that word) liberal type
While rule Britainia does have quite colonial undertones imo this sort of thing just devides people in an unnecessary way and creates the ‘us vs them’ type thing that is really damaging to social progress. Proms really isn’t my thing but I have the choice to just ignore it, it should be allowed to stay as is

The national anthem should be replaced with The national anthem (by Radiohead)

Is this a case of the BBC saying they will review all their programme's and the papers just cherry pick the ones that may cause some outrage?
Or
Is this the BBC trying to cause a stir on behalf of the government as per usual? They have almost perfected getting people wound up which always benefits the Cons.

And part of the discussion should be to tell em to switch channels if they get upset by the songs and the scenes of patriotism that are traditionally associated with last night of the proms.

It has to go as its a hot bed for right wing fascist, racist, bigotry that champions years of oppression.
I imagine we may see one last hurrah where all Union flags are replaced with the EU thorn crown flag and Rule Britannia is replaced with the EU anthem.
Should keep those usually outraged happy.

So as it is being proposed by the BBC (this is the 'em as you refer to them as) whom is it who is meant to 'switch the channel' exactly? Then I'd love you to explain why waving your Union Jack around your living room to LOHAG and RB makes you feel somehow more patriotic than waving your Union Jack around your living room to something different?

The BBC is really doing all it can to just about piss everybody off. Maybe they can turn to subscription base and then we wont need to listen to this type of headline. Dont really effect me though as I dont buy a license preferring to choose my own viewing.

Exactly, if you don’t want to watch and think it’s a ‘old fashioned’ which is where I fall you have the choice not to watch it. To bin it off just creates a whole new culture war. If you restrict people in this way by ‘cancelling’ things you just create a lot of pushback. I think liberal types are often trying to do everything too quickly in terms of progress. Hell my 78 year only just stopped using the N word. If you try and force people they just get entrenched in thier views whereas if you leave people to make their own way people generally became more liberal over time.

It's simple. If lohag and RB upset you, dont watch. There are 100s of free channels to watch, surely there must be summat that wont upset people offended by our decades long tradition of patriotism that is lnotp. And what's wrong with being patriotic.

Now after you've read the article as you say you have and I've pointed out that the broadcaster is reviewing with the view of changing the 'set' who exactly has been offended and sought the change? Who are these people who needs to turn over and listen to something different? Nothing wrong with being patriotic at all, I enjoy my England flag flying high during summer tournaments as much as anybody who has said otherwise? But you've still not answered as to why at or watching the Proms you cannot be just as patriotic in waving your flags to a closing set of say 'Last of the Mohicans' as you can to LOHAG and RB? I'm not even going in on you I'm more interested in why you think this way moreso than what you actually think; I personally find it fascinating how our Media can get you so defensive over songs that the vast majority don't even know the words too.

Thankfully the BBC have decided the songs stay, and I and many others will be turning in and singing along. Feel free to turn the volume down and play last of the mohican, after all it is a free country and no one will force you to do something against your will. As fo Ms Bukake maybe the weather girls "it's raining men' may be on her playlist.

Can't think of anything more British than detesting Last Night Of The Proms I've never watched an entire performance but from the little I have seen, it appears to be attended and enjoyed by some of the worst cunts imaginable (peuce-faced Tories in bad corduroy). I've been! LibDem, I do have a pair of old cords in the cupboard though:-)
