There is definitely a veiled criticism of how our recruitment process was working before in there. Agree but I’d suggest it’s no surprise only one person in the world can think out recruitment process is working

Sadly I think it also suggests O’Neil isn’t over impressed with the choices he’s been given in the last two windows

I don't think he could have been any more condemning of the recruitment at the club unless he came out and said it was 'totally wank'

All that money spent to scrape late survival last season and the season before wasn't much better. What a bloody joke.

But I would also say the club need to have an environment conducive to helping a manager succeed. All those aforementioned managers aren't terrible. Not saying they weren't blameless but I don't think the behind the scenes activities at stoke helped them.

Most people have probably forgotten that we had a new Head of Recruitment in August! Is this the reason we are seeing a change in transfer policy and are being linked with young pacey players instead of the previous sloggers?

Hopefully this is the case, we have needed a change in directions for a long time. With a club philosophy rather than solely mananger led, working along each other.

I think it will help and the fact that we clearly need it anyway. You had to be pretty stupid not to see that. Hence why the previous regime kept on missing it.
Also I would imagine there's an element of we have to fish in this pond of young loanees because we can't afford much else.

Plenty of championship clubs have achieved promotion relying on premier league loanees in key positions, especially in the final third of the pitch.

Oh yeah it's what we should have been doing since we were relegated. Sign the players you can and supplement them with loans. Also if you can get a really class player on loan too then that can push you on to the next level. It's definitely something we fucked up on. We got Cuco Martina instead. Wank.

Let's give the lad a go. Who knows he could be the signing of this window if he happens to find some rough diamonds. That said I sincerely hope he's not just an East End barrow boy with a big gob.

We’ve had our fair share of those. Fingers crossed the new lad is the real deal and part of a recruitment department we have needed for years

Shows why it's mental to bring in a recruitment bloke that the manager wants.

Did Chapple even get round to unpacking his stuff at Stoke, from arrival to departure there's just nothing? Such a strange appointment when it was obvious what was going to happen to Jones in the near future.......

Where did hoss end up anybody know and are we still dealing with Beswicks ? Of course we are still dealing with Beswicks. One of the players we have signed in January has Beswicks as his agent. I can't remember which player it was - but one certainly has Beswicks as agent. Why on earth would we not still deal with Beswicks? Just because we have parted company with one of their ex employees is no reason for us to stop dealing with one of the top football agents.

Wolves got a collection of Portuguese superstars. We got Brek Shea!

Wow I was just asking FFS, I know an old gentleman who worked for Beswicks for many years, not seen him since the Covid outbreak I got some interesting info. from him, we did seem to favour Beswicks when Cartwright was here maybe I am wrong massive apologies for upsetting you.

Looks like our new head of recruitment was tasked with signing players with pace.
It's just a shame that was the only attribute he searched for on Football Manager.
