Probably using the Kev Wimmer money to fund his high wage.
Have one on us Spurs, go on, knock yourselves out !

Imagine heβll be happier sitting on the bench and putting the cones out in training at Spurs rather than Stoke

Even top 6 sides have dodgy second choice keepers. I mean, Jesus, Willy Cabalero? I wouldn't want him in Stoke's team if he was given to us. Hart's a Butland-type disaster zone I'm afraid.

I just didn't agree with your OP making out that because a top 6 side have signed him to sit on the bench, or be 3rd choice, that it 'proves' something. As i said, there are plenty of shit reserve keepers even at top clubs. We'll see how he gets on.

Heβs nowhere near good enough for the Premier League.
See Richard Wright, Rob Green, Scott Carson, Ross Turnbull, Lee Grant - 3rd choice goalkeeper, probably good to have around the place, but most importantly, adds to the homegrown quota.

Sinan Bolat is supposed to be a decent keeper, Michel Vorm could be a short term solution also, both free agents at the moment.
Is Bursik really not ready yet?

Heβs nowhere near good enough for the Premier League. Even if he's still "got it", unfortunately for him, what he's "got" is not in demand in the PL these days. That is, he's an old style gk, not a sweeper keeper who's as good with his feet as his hands and suited to a team which plays a high press.
Which is why Spurs may be interested - Mourinho is still very defensive in his approach, the opposite of eg Klopp or Guardiola.
And with Hart probably not having very many options, then Spurs could get him on much lower wages than he has been used to.

SSN have just said he'll be challenging Loris for the No.1 jersey which can't really see, but I do agree & think he'll be a bench or 3rd choice keeper at best there. Get your point reference Prem Clubs having shit keepers & most are predominantly English has beens but I really do think he'd of done a job for us & fair play to him if he manages to get what will likely be his last big move & big pay day. As for people mentioning Grant as a 3rd choice keeper at Man Utd in this topic, there was a few on here the other day saying they'd still have him back here. Not so sure about that myself although he never let us down & im sure is the kind of keeper who could be relied upon to come on for any team & give of his best. Sure there will be a new keeper in-bound this summer to replace Federici but there's no firm favourites been mentioned as of yet apart from the loose link with David Marshall at Wigan some weeks back.

There's another explanation of why Spurs have signed Hart. Nest season, all the PL clubs will be facing severe fixture congestion, esp those who have qualified for Europe, in particular Spurs, who have to play 3 qualifying rounds just to get into the competition proper: "Jose Mourinhoβs men have to play three rounds of Europa League qualifying β on September 17, September 24 and October 1, all on Thursday nights two days after a Carabao Cup game. Spurs are in talks with EFL chiefs to try to find a solution but they may have little choice but to field two separate teams in the two competitions throughout September."www.the-sun.com/sport/premier-league/1307041/premier-league-fixtures-busy-december-january/If they have to field separate teams, then Hart is likely to get games by that route alone and being English, counts as "home grown" for UEFA purposes into the bargain. Knowing what we know about Levy, Hart's basic wage is probably low enough, but can be bumped up by appearances and bonuses. And the guaranteed contract length may not be that long - 2 years with an option?

I honestly see no reason for Spurs to sign him other than to boost the home grown quota. Hart struggled at Burnley. All his deficiencies which have been evident for years, were still on show.
I'm not convinced he's that 'good a pro' even. Seems to have a reputation for being a bit of a big time Charlie. He'll be on good money at Spurs and will undoubtedly do a good job in the League Cup and FA Cup games.

Joe Hart signing for Spurs while Asmir Begovic is at AC Milan is simply proof that we never had any chance of signing either of them, to be honest.

Thought Joe Hart was one of the best keepers in the country before Pep came to Man City, think that rejection crushed his confidence and he's never really recovered. He's only competing to be 2nd choice at Spurs so he wont get much game time. Always been a solid pro with the right attitude.

Lloris is an overrated dodgy keeper but because he's captain there's no chance Hart will get in ahead of him.

Putting aside your opinion of Lloris an being an overrated dodgy keeper (which I disagree). But to infer that that Hart would have a chance of being Spur's first choice keeper if Lloris wasn't captain, is laughable.
