It’s just taken me ages to scroll down the pages of channels for something to watch. It’s all shite! Then I stumbled across a programme called “Doctor Pimple Popper” on REALLY. It’s a documentary about a doctor who bursts people’s boils and lumps. I mean you can literally make a tv programme about anything in the age of digital TV. Maybe Alan Partridges idea of “Inner city sumo” or “Youth hosteling with Chris Eubank” weren’t as crazy as they sound. So it got me thinking, I’m not a big TV watcher, but I’m sure there’s loads of people out there who are. So with this in mind, what’s the most ludicrous TV show anyone has seen in the last few years?

I saw a thing called 'When text messaging goes wrong' Basically some member of the public telling stories like...I meant to send it to my Girlfriend but sent it to my Mum instead. Fantastic stuff Does anyone remember Minipops? My sister used to watch it. Kids dressed up as 80s pop stars singing their hits of the time. Was plain creepy

"Naked Attraction" will surely be seen by future generations as a cultural nadir.

Go and read some of Charlie Brooker's spoof TV listing website 'TV Go Home' from 20 years ago and think about how many of the ridiculously premised concepts have (almost) become a reality. www.ntk.net/tvgohome/030999.html😂

It ran for about 7 years - there's hundreds of them on there.
I'm surprised it's still online after all this time to be honest 😂

Everything with Miranda Hart or Michael McIntyre in. Sail the two unfunniest "comedians" ever to live off into the middle of the north sea in a bath tub then (like the Beeb should have done years ago) pull the plug. Now that I'd pay to watch.
Monk - one of the worst written shows ever, and surely the worst acted. Yet it got multiple awards, massive viewing figures etc. And Mrs Q likes it. She's resorted to recording it on the box in the spare bedroom & only watching it in there in case I catch a nanosecond of it & go into a rage.
Aaah, sorry, I missed the OP's point a bit. Just me railing about utter sh1te there. Had to be done, though.
Docter Pimple Popper sounds like a classic of inanity. I tend not to watch bollox like that so I've nothing constructive to add to the thread, really. Even with 200 channels of sh1te there's always a good documentary on, or at least one I've recorded. Although the cult of celebrity makes me rant - shows that feature no-mark wannabes that have no redeeming qualities and no fame other than the fact they've been on another z-list "reality" show before. Without actually being able to name such a show, there's plenty like that. Shoot them. Shoot all the talentless no-mark wannabes. Tie them up, hang them, dump them in a river. And then shoot them again. Bah !
Yet to air, the show: "Quietman Teaches The World How To Live Harmoniously". Now that would be a ludicrous premise but I can guarantee top viewing figures.

Quite a rant there Quietman😀 I forgot to mention how delighted I was last night upon realising my TV licence money was being spent on a show called Canada’s Drag Race on BBC1 last night. A talent show for Canada’s drag queens, last night featuring such talents as Miss Loose Jaw. Unbelievable!

Unless you put Monk on the case & he finds out I've got 70 offspring in a country I've never visited before. I daresay all of them could out-act him anyway ;-)

He played Freddie in 'The Man who wasn't there'... stirring performance I absolutely love 'Monk' and the eye candy that is Natalie Teeger.

My Cat From Hell - Gay bloke visits American homes to calm down neurotic and sometimes vicious felines Actually can be quite useful. Didn’t know some cats prefer horizontal scratchy posts to vertical. Saved me some money on soft furnishings. Anyhoo....I see you that and raise you a little gem that NBC is offering on its Peacock service over here. I believe it’s called The Only Way is Essex” Maybe I just caught an off moment but I doubt I lasted two minutes. This is who Jackson does all his ‘gay’ stuff with

Watching people watching TV. I saw a clip of Gogglebox recently and wondered what the hell it was. I enjoyed watching this guy laughing at Father Ted though (not sure why they starred out 'racist'):
