Recruitment as always will be key, if we can be spot in with the 'quality' we add then we can certainly be right up there. This season ahead doesn't appear to have any stand out teams, fine margins will be decisive.

Norwich need another striker Dave, as they had no Plan B. B'mouth will have wadfs of cash from the sale of their prized assets but then need to buy well and integrate. I wouldn't trust a rooky manager to do that. Brentford will probably sell their crown jewels and invest wisely as that's their modus operandi. Not convinced by Frank in his grey V neck and black slacks, but he will have learnt a few things from their implosion at the end of the season. I'd be happy to be in the Top 10 come January and then see if we need to strengthen for a tilt at the Play Offs as one often comes from the pack. For me the key will be using the loan system and bringing in quality but with a view to buy. Other teams do it, why can't we? After the trauma of this season I'm managing my expectations and we need to acknowledge how very different playing with no crowds is. Teams that grasp this better than others will steal a march. Fingers crossed we get some momentum.

I just hope we can kick off the season the way we ended it. Bring in some pace and who knows. We are certainly capable as we have shown. It will be interesting to see how Brentford cope in a new stadium as well, griffin park was a bit of a fortress. They may find the new ground tougher?
Stoke Norwich Swansea

Its fucking horrible isn't it I wouldn't go as far as horrible but it's certainly tin pot Compared to the others it looks cheap and poorly designed When I say horrible, its because it's got nothing in it that defines us as a city or club. It's proper half arsed and should be redesigned now that we are supposedly not a tin pot outfit like we were when it was introduced.

Had they not gone up through the play offs I'd have been as confident of Fulham taking the title next season as I was with Leeds this year. Now I've got no idea. Relegated sides haven't got a good record in recent years. You can see that Bournemouth and Watford are going to lose some key men, which probably puts Norwich in the best position of those 3 (despite being awful this year) as the most likely to mount a challenge. There's question marks over all the teams though. Brentford may suffer a hangover and have some of their star players poached, Cardiff- is Neil Harris really a good enough manager to maintain the bounce he oversaw last season? Swansea- how reliant were they on loan players? Forest were so hit and miss that you couldn't back them with any confidence... I think you could build a case for any one of about 14 clubs, and we're somehow one of them! The big question for norwich is "was pukki a flash in the pan, one season wonder"? If he was, they'll be nowhere near. He's been a very good striker almost his entire career. Nothing at this level suggests be can't do it, I'd expect a minimum of 10 goals and basically that's all a good quality striker in this league is expected. If they are towards the playoffs, inevitably it would be closer to 15 or 16. Our stikers really should be aiming for 10+, with Tyrese aiming for 16+. Anything less is pretty much unacceptable, game time depending. Pukki is a lot more than just a poacher these days and I'd imagine Norwich will do well. Tyrese 16+ Gregory 8 Vokes 10 Adobe? That's not really enough for a push is it?

Wait and see who's standing when the season kicks off, and who is obviously fighting to stave off creditors. I am expecting several administrations, the Championship is the most financially precarious league in the country, possibly in the whole of Europe.

We end the season quite strong a lot of the time, unbeaten or a few wins. Is this why we struggle on the next, as we go in a bit too confident thinking well we ended well and that was easy.

Reasons to be positive:
1) Our form under O'Neill has been good and would have had us around the play-offs. If he can strengthen over the summer then you would hope that he can maintain or improve this form.
2) We are suddenly scoring a lot of goals.
3) This league is absolutely diabolical.
Reasons to be negative:
1) We've spent most of this season fighting relegation. That doesn't often make a team become promotion contenders overnight.
2) The fragility of the squad and problems in the dressing room that multiple managers allude to.
3) FFP may well leave us hamstrung.

Title. We're 9/2 to go up with 365 Early value with 365 is Swansea at 20/1. Hmm. Not so sure about them. Like you said earlier, take away Gallagher who was great in midfield and Brewster - and almost certainly Ayew, and they could be looking at a massive drain in quality and a loss of their difference-makers. Their manager does seem to attract some good young players on loan, but still a big hole to fill. And we are ahead of them in the 2020 form table.

From a selfish POV I'm glad Wigan dropped because they could have been a real threat if they'd kept Cook, players and momentum.
I'm not sure what comings and goings they've had but if they can keep their manager and bulk of their squad they will walk League 1.

For me it will be Bournemouth. Watford and Brentford if they manage to keep there players. After those three I think it’s going to be very open and hopefully we will be up there with a few more additions I can see Bournemouth struggling again. Like Huddersfield and Blackpool, they're punching above their weight at this level never mind the league above. And outside the PL, given their history and crowds, they're not a draw for players.

Paul Cook resigned earlier this week. Oops. Any news on his replacement? No idea but as it looks like they may have to sell more players to pay the July/August wages, I would suggest whoever it is will be cheap, unless a quick sale of the club can be agreed.
